Taran Alvelo from Bloom-Carroll High in Carroll, Ohio, is one of the top pitchers nationally in the Class of 2015. Pitching for the Beverly Bandits this summer, she went 1-1 with a 1.40 ERA and 30 K’s in 25 innings at the PGF 18U Premier National Championship.

Taran has already committed to a Pac 12 school and here you’ll learn about how her love of the colors Purple and Gold kept popping up and helped influence her decision where to commit!

Brentt has been in sports media for over 20 years, starting digital websites at ESPN and Student Sports and serving the club/high school softball world since 2006 when he started StudentSportsSoftball.com. The Columbus, Ohio native has written for ESPN Magazine, Sports Illustrated and Yahoo! Sports and has done on-air work as part of an Emmy-winning sports show. Brentt currently lives in Huntington Beach, California.
