We finish our look at the top 100 players in the 2014 class… we’ve spotlighted 10 each day in our countdown from 100 to No. 1. The seniors were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches. Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level. Featuring standout players from California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois and Tennessee.

		Maddy is simply one of the best pure hitters in the game. She works hard and is unbelievably strong and can take any pitch out of the park. Maddy was so good so early, she committed to UCLA while in the eighth grade. She's also probably the only player in the Hot 100 who has played baseball during her high school career. A high school transfer made her ineligible to play softball her sophomore year so she went to the other diamond and was well accepted by her new team. As a junior, she returned to her Saugus, Calif. softball team and didn't miss a beat hitting .576 with an on-base percentage of .685 and a slugging percentage of 1.181. Her bat is too good to keep her out of the lineup for long once she hits Westwood.
9	Nicole DeWitt	2B/OF	Firecrackers-Rico	Florida
		Nicole is a triple threat who has raw power and can go yard at anytime. She's very strong defensively and is very similar in style, talent and efficiency of play as her teammate on the Firecrackers, Taylor Van Zee, who came in at No. 14 on the Hot 100. Nicole was part of the Firecrackers 16U team that won PGF Nationals in 2012 and as a junior at Pacifica High in Garden Grove, Calif. hit .490 with 26 RBI, 12 doubles and seven home runs to earn 2nd Team All-State and 1st Team All-State Small Schools honors by CalHi Sports.com. The Mariners finished No. 11 in the nation and were No. 1 in California at one point before falling in the semifinals but will have a chance to shoot for a national title with DeWitt in the infield and other top talent including pitchers Kaylee Carlson (North Carolina, No. 17 in the Hot 100), Kaley Winegarner (Stanford), outfielder Faith Canfield (Michigan) and infielder Brooke Marquez (Northwestern, No. 62 in the Hot 100).
8	Jazmyn Jackson	SS/OF	Corona Angels	Cal Berkeley
		Jazmyn is the complete package: she is a triple threat on offense with 2.6 speed home to first but can surprise with her power too. Defensively, she's a very solid shortstop but can play several positions--it wouldn't be surprising if she ends up being an All-Pac-12 outfielder some day. Jazmyn also has a great attitude and work ethic. She was a MaxPreps All-American, CalHi Sports 1st Team All-State pick and the San Jose Mercury News Player of the Year and led her team to a 27-1 record after batting .542 with 44 runs scored, 10 doubles, four triples and eight home runs. Her slugging percentage was .979, pretty good for a leadoff hitter with blazing speed. She also had 16 stolen bases. Impressively, she went hitless in only two games and only struck out three times all year.
7	C.J. McClain	OF	Tennessee Fury	Tennessee
		C.J. has great speed and power and has all the tools to be an All-American in college. She gets a great jump on the ball and can play all three outfield spots. C.J. helped her 14U team finish ninth at ASA Nationals in 2010 and had a huge sophomore season as her Henderson, Tenn. team finished 42-11-2 and won the Tennessee state title behind her .465 average with 43 RBI, 17 doubles and nine homers. Her junior year was cut short, however, when she was dismissed from the team for disciplinary reasons though it looks as if she's in good standing at the high school and club level. Assuming all is well moving forward, her athleticism and five-tool softball skills makes C.J. too good of a talent to ignore and a potential All-SEC or even All-American candidate in the next few years.
6	Kayli Kvistad	1B	Gold Coast Hurricanes	Florida
		Kayli is a prototypical first baseman you build a program around. She is a big strong hitter with a powerful bat who's good defensively at first base. The lefty has a quick stroke and can hit any pitch to all fields. Kayli led her Lake City, Fla. team to a 28-4 record and its first state title as she led the Gainesville area with a .617 average and .718 on-base percentage with 37 RBI, 11 doubles and six home runs and only two strikeouts. An excellent all-around athlete who's also played soccer and volleyball, she also added 19 steals this year. She was named the Class 6A Player of the Year and 1st Team All-State in 2013 and has been on the national radar since her freshman year when she was a MaxPreps Freshman All-American and 1st Team Florida 5A All-State selection. 5	Meghan Gregg	SS	Birmingham Thunderbolts	Tennessee
		Meghan is a great lefty hitter who can do everything from laying down a soft bunt and beating it out to power slapping and hitting balls out of the park. She is very strong and athletic and runs extremely well. Defensively, she is quick, reads balls well and has a very quick release and a strong throw across the infield. Meghan was a key cog for the Atlanta Vipers-Giles team that won ASA Gold National Championship this summer and has led her Woodbury, Ga. high school team to the Georgia Class AA state championship which plays Saturday, Oct. 19 in a best two out of three format.
4	Johanna Grauer	P	Sorcerer Gold	UCLA
		Johanna has all the pitches: she throws in the 63-64 mph range but keeps hitters off balance with a great rise complemented by a curve and screwball. A senior captain for her Pleasanton, Calif. high school team, she's a mentor to younger players and when in the circle has a presence that elevates her teammates' play. A MaxPreps All-American and CalHi Sports 1st Team All-State honoree, she was also the California State Junior of the Year and last year's Sophomore of the Year. Her record was 22-2 with a 0.08 ERA and only two earned runs and 39 hits allowed in 152 innings where she struck out 274 batters. Johanna is simply dominating, as her record indicated in 2013 with a perfect game, three no-hitters and eight one-hitters. She also has international experience having played on the Swedish National team this summer.
3	Tera Blanco	P	Firecrackers-Rico	Michigan
		Tera is known for her confidence and swagger on the field, a competitive attitude that comes from wanting to be the best in everything she does. In the circle, she has all the pitches, most notably a devastating curveball that locks batters' knees. Tera works her pitches effectively inside and out and she's a big-game player who performs best when the game's on the line. She was the ace on the 16U Firecrackers team that won the 2011 PGF Nationals and led the Firecrackers to a televised championship in Colorado this summer. What also puts Tera in the Hot 100 top five is her bat; don't be surprised if she's also an excellent hitter in the Big Ten. For her Huntington Beach high school team she went 25-4 in the circle with a 0.70 ERA and 229 strikeouts in 190 innings while hitting .420 with a .550 on-base percentage.
2	Kylee Perez	SS/2B	Sorcerer Gold	UCLA
		Kylee is a five-tool player who's unbelievable at shortstop. She has great range, excellent hands and college-level footwork already. Offensively, she can do it all including bunting, slapping and hitting away. She is one of the best bunters in the country but if infielders get too close she'll drive the ball over their heads. A 1st Team California All-State pick after hitting .618 with 12 home runs and 51 RBI for her Martinez, Calif. high school, she's on track to become one of the most decorated and record-breaking players ever to come out of the CIF North Coast Section. She's been a star since she was 12 years old playing on the Sorcerer 14U team and her younger sister, Bri, is also a fast-rising shortstop who dominated at this year's National Elite Camp. As for Kylee, what's scary is she has a high ceiling and hasn't yet gotten to be as good as she will be in time.
1	Jenna Lilley	MIF/OF	Beverly Bandits	Oregon
		Jenna isn’t a dominating power pitcher or a five-tool speedster, but she is the top player in the 2014 Hot 100 rankings. Why? For one thing, she’s a winner. Following her two sisters, Tricia and Megan (who played at Purdue and Northwestern, respectively), to Hoover High in North Canton, Ohio, Jenna has won three straight state championships topped by a perfect 32-0 season in 2013. Jenna hit .697 with 53 RBI, 46 runs scored and seven home runs in those 32 games, which gave her a .804 on-base percentage and a 1.303 slugging percentage against good competition. She also showed she could play with the best at the PGF 18U Nationals where she hit .412 as her Beverly Bandits tied for fifth. But with Jenna it’s not just records and stats; to appreciate her game you have to see her in person. Like the best quarterbacks in football, the MaxPreps All-American has the “it” factor that winners convey. She’s intense and laser-focused on the field and studies the game. If there’s one word to describe her, it’s fearless. She attended the National Elite Camp when she was in the seventh grade and banged away with players four and five years older than her. Scouting-wise, she hits for power and average and can do both to all fields. The Ohio senior is one of the best pure hitters in the game and can play multiple positions although she’s excellent at third with her strong arm and intuitive defense. Her intangibles, such as work ethic and attitude, are off the charts. And the best part is, she’s as great off the field—carrying herself with dignity and class— as she is on it. Jenna, in conclusion, is everything you’d want in a softball player and someone representing the sport.
