One thing you can say about Clint Myers, the two-time National Championship winning head coach at Auburn: he certainly thinks big.

That’s the case for Auburn’s Class of 2016 which includes 10 recruits from across the nation who tripped to the SEC program the weekend of October 3rd.

On Friday night (Oct. 2), the softball standouts had a barbecue dinner at the fields with their hosts and families.  Saturday kicked off with a breakfast at the Auburn Hotel which, according to pitcher Ashlee Swindle “was amazing! I loved their biscuits and gravy!”

Next, the recruits attended an Auburn softball scrimmage and then ate at the Wellness Kitchen before going to the Tigers’ football game, a 35-21 win over San Jose State.

“The game was great because we got the win,” continued Ashlee, “and I loved the atmosphere inside the stadium—it’s truly exciting. The Auburn family sure does cheer for their team!”

As great as the football win was—not to mention all the food!—Swindle says her favorite memory of the weekend was softball-related.

“It was Justus (Perry) and I talking to some of the Auburn players one-on-one. It was very interesting to learn all about them and what they like to do.”

The Hot 100 player—one of four Auburn future signees to make the 2016 list—says she’s excited for what Coach Myers and his staff are building which included a school-record 56 wins and the Tigers’ first ever trip to the WCWS.

“My official visit could not have been better,” Ashlee says. “I love Auburn because it is all about family and to me that is a big factor in life. The coaches have high expectations for all the student-athletes on and off the field.”

“The team was very nice and welcoming plus I met all of my incoming teammates and they were so nice. I am very excited to play at Auburn University.”
