Veteran's Showcase Tribute Players to Watch: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021

14 U Beverly Bandits - Dorsey

Number | Name | Position | B/T

2019
#2 Bailey Dowling | SS, 3B, C | R/R | 3.8 GPA
Great size around 5-8, strong arm and can hit. Bailey hit a bomb dead center off of Georgia Impact - Newland and RBI single. She is one you need to put on your radar. Versatile, athletic and can hit. Bailey will either pop up or hit a bomb.

#18 Hope Straight | P/1B | R/L | 3.7 GPA
Gamer, scrapper, sparkplug of the team. On defense, she will give up her body if that means stopping the ball. During the game she pitched and dove off the mound twice to knock the ball down. On offense, I have to admit her preload is distracting. She led off a rally inning with a two out single then drove a run in later against the Georgia Impact - Newland. I would like to see how Hope does against better pitching, but I would imagine that she would be up for the challenge.

14U Atlanta Vipers - Jiles

2019
#4 Kate Ashmore | C, 1B, OF | R/R
Caught for Vipers. Great size and good throwing pattern and mechanics.

2020
#6 Sydney Chambley | P, OF, SS | L/R
Sydney smoked a double to left center and took third without hesitation with a ball in the dirt. She is extremely athletic, light on her feet and knows how to run the bases.

#32 Anslee Day | 1B, OF | R/R
Big, strong kid with a good swing. After watching again, she's very slow on the bases.

14U Florida Storm - Sacco

2020
#44 Caliann Rogers | C, Utility | R/R | 4.1 GPA
Rogers bats third for the Storm. Caliann battled in her first at-bat drawing 7-9 pitches before hitting an RBI single up the middle. She’s the best hitter on this team and is best suited behind the plate. Rogers has solid throwing mechanics. I would like to see her hit off of better pitching.

Team Knoxville 14U

2019
#10 Ashley Harbison | OF | L/L | 4.0 GPA
Ashley swings with malicious intent. She crushed 2 balls in 2 at-bats. Her throwing mechanics need improvement. I love watching hitters like her who want to destroy the ball.

2021
#18 Cameron Young | P/SS | L/R | 4.0 GPA
Cameron is around 5-7. I see a lot of upside to her. Although Cameron is one of the youngest on her team, on defense she communicates with the defense and is always moving at shortstop. At the plate, she is going to be a good lead off hitter with good pop and speed. Cameron roped a line drive to third base, then grounded out to second. Love her aggressiveness and emerging leadership qualities.

14U Georgia Impact - Newland

2020
#2 Riley Blampied | SS, C | R/R
Riley has solid throwing mechanics with a quick release. Smooth swing and bats third.

#22 Alison Newland | OF, C | L/R
Lead off hitter for Impact. Alison plays like she’s been around baseball most of her life. She has swag at the plate. Unfazed by the umpires erratic strike zone, she popped a single in the 5-6 hole. I have a feeling when she gets going, the entire team follows.

2021
#42 Kaylen Madrey | SS, OF | S/R
Why hit a double when Kaylen can hit a single and steal a base all in two pitches? She is great on the bases. I’m not sure if shortstop is home for her. She’s got time to work with different positions to see what fits best. I’d like to see her try third or second.

16U Beverly Bandits - DeMarini

2018
#18 Erika Williams | OF | L/R | 4.3 GPA
Erika blasted a triple to the right field fence using her power slap versus Georgia Impact National - Lewis. Small in stature but strong at the plate and speedy on the bases.

Birmingham Thunderbolts 2001

2020
#5 Abby Allen | C | R/R
Abby hit 3 homeruns on the day. She bats behind Tennessee commit Maci Cunconan. She stands about 5-5 or 5-6. Abby swings with malicious intent.

#15 Abigail Dorsett | OF | L/R
Speed, speed, speed. Abigail is a little one that laid down a bunt for a single. Speed will be her greatest weapon. I would have liked to see a steal attempt in a first and third situation with less than two outs.

14U Jacksonville Storm - Davis

2019
#12 Taryn Freshwater | 1B, C | R/R | 3.75 GPA
Taryn drilled a triple to center field. Around 5-7 or 5-8, she’s one to keep an eye on.

#2 Jenae Wash | SS, C | R/R | 3.8 GPA
Jenae has a solid make up of a shortstop, fluid fielding mechanics with a quick release. Swing path and mechanics are good. The coaches put in a pinch runner for her which I can’t say I agree with because coaches need to know that she can run the bases.
