We took on the daunting task of ranking the top freshmen in our 2019 Hot 100 and we came up with some compelling finds after diving in to our list.

Of the 100 players on our list, only 32 of them remain uncommitted. That means that 68 of the best players in the class of 2019 have committed to where they will play their four years of college ball before ever playing a game of high school ball! And only three of our top 10 remain uncommitted -- No. 3 Julia Cottrill of the Gold Coast Hurricanes, No. 5 Farrah Steffany of the OC Batbusters - Campbell, and No. 9 Val Pero of the OC Batbusters - Campbell.

Speaking of the OC Batbusters - Campbell, the powerhouse west coast team had the most players of any club team on the list with eight. The So Cal Choppers - Fausett were in a close second with six, while the So Cal Athletics - Mercado and Texas Glory tied for five. Georgia Impact - Stewart rounded out the top five club teams with the most commits with four.

The five club teams with the most players were rather representative of the spread of the Hot 100 players across the map as a whole -- California had the most commits with 33, Texas ranked second with 14, and Georgia was close behind with 12. Illinois and Florida followed Georgia with nine and eight, respectively.

Overall, 19 different states and 52 different club teams were represented by our 2019 Hot 100 list.

Surprisingly enough with all that variety, all of the 68 committed players have committed to only schools in the Big 5 conferences. The SEC with 29 total commits nearly tripled the next closest conference, the Big 12 with 11. Both the Big Ten and Pac-12 tied for third most commits 10, while the ACC pulled eight commits.

Almost half of the Big 12's 11 commits came from Oklahoma's five commits, and Tennessee led the way in the SEC with five as well, making both the Sooners and the Volunteers the universities with the most Hot 100 commits. Two-time defending National Champion Florida Gators pulled in four commits and runner-up Michigan secured three.

True to Hot 100 form, pitchers had a heavy presence on the list, with 33 players having the position listed as their first or second position. Add the 16 catchers on the list and almost exactly half of the Hot 100 are battery players.

Interestingly, every single one of our top 10 either pitch or catch, and we named catcher and Oklahoma commit Kinzie Hansen of the So Cal Athletics - Mercado as our No. Hot 100 player in the Class of 2019.
