Top College Classes From 2019 Hot 100
Top College Classes From 2019 Hot 100
Here's a look at the colleges that picked up the most players from the 2019 Hot 100.

We’ve had about two dozen astute FloSoftball followers write and ask why—like with all the other seven Hot 100’s we’ve done (from 2014 to 2019 with some repeated)—we haven’t done a Top 25 college class list based on the 2019 Hot 100 player rankings.
The simple answer: we knew that several players would shortly commit after the lists came out in January, which has come to pass as a half dozen athletes have since made their verbals known.
With college softball underway, recruiting tends to die down significantly so now is a good time to do a very preliminary look at which universities did the best in pulling in elite players.
We say “preliminary” because of the 2019 Hot 100 players, 28 are still uncommitted and this will obviously change how the colleges are ranked down the road as these more than two dozen standouts finalize their college plans.
But for NOW, it’s fun to see who’s had a great start in getting top freshman talent… and we will be updating the 2019 several times before these players do hit their college campuses years from now.
So how does the college team rankings work?
The process is based on a point system where the higher ranking players received more points. Each player’s point total is based on a scale that adds up to 100; for example, the No. 1 player receives 100 points, No. 2 has 99, No. 3 has 98… down to No. 100 which receives 1.
And, as the saying goes, “success breeds success” and with five of the eight teams in the Women’s College World Series being from the SEC, is it any surprise that five of the Top 10 teams in this college list is also from the talent-laden conference?
Here’s a look at all 36 teams who so far have picked up at least one player in the 2019 Hot 100 and how they stack up…
