It was a Sunday slugfest at the Super Stars Championship on the final day of competition. The Florida talent was lit, and seven innings was all it took for some teams to overcome adversity.

Florida Select vs. Crossfire

Florida Select overcame a six-run deficit to stage a come from behind victory against Crossfire.

In the bottom of the second with runners on first and second, Crossfire executed a push bunt for an RBI single and advance runners on second and third. Sarah Crawford crushed a double off the left field fence to score another run putting up Crossfire 4-0.

In the bottom of the third, Crossfire stretched their lead to six with a string of hits and a wild pitch.

Florida Select chipped away in the top of the fourth. Kallie Jones ripped a single to left field and Skylar Sullivan followed up with another lined shot to left. 

With runners on second and third, Amelia Olive roped a double to left center to put two runs on the board for Florida Select and cut Crossfire's lead to 4-2.

On defense, Florida Select shortstop 2018 Rebecca Koskey made a spectacular backhand play in the 5-6 hole to take away a base hit by Amelia Varela.

At the top fifth, the momentum shifted when Florida Select blooped a single up the middle to lead off the inning. With no outs, the bases are loaded for Koskey, who smoked a lined shot over the left-field fence for a grand slam to tie the game 6-6. 

Lefty 2018 pitcher Kallie Jones entered game for Florida Select and retired the side.

Crossfire continued to unravel as Emily Estroff hit the leadoff batter issuing a free pass in the sixth. Sullivan blooped a base hit to left.

With runners on first and third, Amelia Olive laced a line drive down the left-field line to drive in one run, putting Florida Select ahead 7-6.

Hayleigh Mulkey threatened to stretch the lead drilling a line drive down the left field line. Peyton Germer made the diving grab down the line and doubled up the runner at third to end the inning.

Florida Select continued their rampage on offense when Lauren Lewis hit a two-run bomb in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Jones remained sharp to close out the game with the assistance of her catcher Krystal Haynes, who threw out a runner at third who attempted to steal.

Hanover Hornets vs. Lady Gators Jackson

Hanover Hornets and Lady Gators Jackson did not disappoint on Sunday to close out the Super Stars Championship.

It was a pitchers' duel between the Hornet's Peyton St. George, who is committed to Duke, and the Lady Gators' Alexandrea Costa, who is uncommitted in the class of 2017. The big standout of the game was Costa, who held her own in the circle with 14 fly outs against the Hornets.

The Hornets drew first blood when Virginia Tech commitment Meredith Slaw crushed a solo home run over the right-field fence.

Defense was on point for both teams complete with snow cones grabs and line drive snags.

The Gators responded with back to back singles and eventually scored on a wild pitch by St. George. 

It wasn't until the sixth when Hornets third baseman Slaw hit a shot in 3-4 hole to put the Hornets ahead by one.

The drama unfolded in the seventh as St. George found herself in a bases-loaded situation after back-to-back singles and a walk. Gators pitcher Costa, a 2017 prospect, was stellar in the circle. But now she was in a pivotal position at the plate.

She drilled a ball in the 5-6 hole to drive in the tying run. 

With the winning run on third and no outs, Shelby Russo stepped in the box and laced a double over the left fielder to end the game 4-2.
