Rising Star: 2020 MIF Kaitlyn Tucker
When I was younger, I had a coach tell me that I was not good enough to play up. They would always push me to work harder. Because I still remember it to this day. Every time I step on the field I want to prove him wrong. - Kaitlyn Tucker

From Oakboro, North Carolina Kaitlyn Tucker is as competitive as they come. Last summer, she went on an offensive rampage leading the Carolina Elite - Fisher team in batting average (.427) and on base percentage (.540).

She attributes her success on offense to her versatility. Tucker explains, "I use many different skills because I slap. I soft slap, hard slap, bunt. I change up what I do a lot in the box to confuse the defense."

Her talent did not go unnoticed as she was selected to play in the Faster2First All-Star game in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The 2020 shortstop is dynamic with her speed, ability to read the defense, and leadership.

Tucker credits her dad, "Confidence. He always told me to have confidence." Mark Tucker is the hitting coach for Carolina Elite - Fisher and also coaches high school baseball.

Mark introduced Kaitlyn to softball when she was baby. Kaitlyn grew up watching her father play competitive slow pitch. "I've always wanted to be just like my dad." Kaitlyn commented.

Over the last few years, Tucker has developed tremendous instincts on the field. Coach Josh Fisher details, "She seemingly always is in the right spot at the right time, in terms of, covering for a stolen base, bunt coverage."

She is being highly recruited by East Carolina, Western Carolina, UNC - Wilmington, Campbell, Radford and Liberty.
