1st Team FloSoftball All-Americans: Infielders

Sr. Taryn Antoine (Alexandria LA) null
Antoine hit .494 with 26 steals and six home runs this year to showcase her five-tool game and was named a PGF All-American and Louisville Slugger Hit Club finalist. Able to play most infield spots, she earned 1st Team All-State honors for the second year in a row and as a junior led her team to its first ever state title. This season her team went 32-4-1. The LSU commit, ranked as the #41 player in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100, also received 1st Team All-CENLA honors and was the LHSCA All-Star Game MVP this spring.

Sr. Kendyll Bailey (Grain Valley MO) null
Bailey was named a PGF All-American and a Louisville Slugger Hit Club finalist after batting .455 last fall with a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.094 OPS. She knocked in 63 RBI and over half her hits were for extra bases. The Missouri signee is a two-time All-State honoree and four time pick as All-Conference, All-District and All-Region. The middle infielder is ranked as the #11 in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100 and is considered one of the top prospects from the middle part of the country.

Sr. Taylor Bump (Canterbury, St. Petersburg FL) null
Bump is a three-sport standout and has been the captain of her softball, basketball and volleyball teams in high school. As a senior she batted .532 with 50 hits in 31 games including 16 home runs which led the state and 49 RBI. Ranked as the #61 player in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100, the Michigan signee has helped her team to three state titles and earned every possible award in the Sunshine State this season including 1st Team All-State, All-Tampa Bay, All-Conference and All-Pinellas County.

Fr. Jayda Coleman (The Colony TX) null
Coleman was well-known in the club circles prior to her freshman season--she was ranked by FloSoftball as the #1 player in the 2020 class--but few could have expected how she would dazzle on the prep fields this spring. A lefty shortstop, she batted .653, scored 74 runs, stole 53 bases, hit 12 homers and had 32 RBI. Her on-base percentage was equally impressive at .705. Coleman was tabbed as the Dallas Morning News Player of the Year, a 1st Team USA Today All-American, the District 14-5A MVP and a 5A All-State Tournament pick. The freshman committed to the National Champion Oklahoma Sooners last year.

Fr. Bailey Dowling (St. Joseph-Ogden, St. Joseph IL) null
An outstanding defensive and offensive shortstop, Dowling helped lead her team to a 35-5 record and the IHSA State Championship game where the team fell 2-1, but her season was one for the record books. The Alabama commit set a school record with 22 home runs and placed her third all-time in Illinois history. Her .650 batting average was second best ever for her school and her 78 hits for the season was third best in school history and 10th best in Illinois state history. Dowling, ranked #14 in the 2020 Hot 100, compiled a .980 fielding percentage and only had two errors all year. She also hit .556 with runners in scoring position and stole 22 bases. Honors included 1st Team All-State and All-Conference and being selected as the All-Area Player of the Year.

Sr. Jenna Ergle (Sumiton Christian, Sumiton AL) null
Ergle is a 5-foot-3 corner infielder, but overlook her because of her height and you'll make a grave mistake. Before she entered Alabama high school ball as a freshman in 2014, no player had ever hit the 100 RBI mark for a season and all the Boston College slugger did was do it all four years of her prep career: 127 as a freshman, 103 her sophomore year, 106 last season and 124 this spring. The 460 total is a national record for a four-year varsity career. Selected as a PGF All-American, she batted .544 this year with 80 hits, including 24 home runs, in 66 games played. Her on-base percentage was .651 and OPS was a stellar 1.828. Naturally feared at the plate, she helped her team win the 1A state title by being walked seven times in eight at-bats in the finals after her program had won the 2A championship the two previous campaigns.

So. Fiona Girardot (Oak Park & River Forest, Oak Park IL)null
Girardot played second base for the Illinois 4A State Champs who won a second straight year thanks to the Wisconsin commit who batted .603 with 70 hits, 59 RBI and 59 runs in 116 at-bats. Girardot earned 1st Team All-State honors and had a 52-game hitting streak at one point. Her team finished 37-1 and #7 in the FloSoftball FAB 50 rankings thanks to fellow All-Americans Maeve Nelson (shortstop) and Chardonnay Harris (pitcher).

Sr. Brooke Langston (American Heritage, Plantation FL) null
Langston, who was a FloSoftball 2nd Team All-American last year, has bounced back between second base--which she played the last two years--and shortstop--where she lined up as a freshman and sophomore--but wherever she plays in the middle infield, she's had excellent success. The Tennessee commit, ranked #91 in the 2017 FloSoftball Hot 100, batted .424 with 24 RBI and was perfect on the bases going 27-for-27. She has been part of two 6A state titles (2014, 2016) and two second place finishes (2015, 2017). All four years of her prep career she's been All-State and All-Broward County.

Sr. Rachel Lewis (Lakota East, Liberty Township OH) null
A top defensive shortstop with power and speed at the plate, Lewis earned 1st Team All-Ohio honors after batting .604 with a .678 on-base percentage and 55 hits including five triples, 11 home runs and 56 RBI. She stole 29 bases and as the lead-off batter was a constant threat on offense. The Northwestern signee was the #71 player in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100 and was also honored as the Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year.

Sr. Maddie Morgan (Lynnwood, Bothell WA) null
Named as a prestigious PGF All-American and a USA Today 2nd Team honoree, Morgan has continued with the hot bat she's shown all throughout high school. A skilled defender who can play any infield positions, she was lights out with the bat this year even though her team struggled with a 5-18 record. Morgan, ranked #85 in the 2017 Hot 100 and a long-time Alabama pledge, batted .702 as a leadoff hitter and cranked 17 doubles and six home runs to give her a .770 on-base percentage.  She also compiled a 1.389 slugging percentage--pretty rare for someone batting in the top spot in the line-up.

Jr. Maeve Nelson (Oak Park & River Forest, Oak Park IL)null
Nelson was the shortstop in the excellent infield combo that included Fiona Girardot (see above) who benefitted from teams having to pitch around Nelson in the line-up as she was a well known threat coming into the season. A Northwestern commit, Nelson batted .514 as she didn't get as much to hit this year, but still cranked out 61 RBI with 12 home runs and scored 60 runs with a .603 on-base percentage (thanks to the aforementioned walks). With Girardot and pitcher Chardonnay Harris, the team took the Class 4A State title. But with Harris graduated, Nelson will be the go-to player next year to help the team try to win a second straight Illinois championship.

Jr. Arielle Oda (Buford GA) MIFnull
A speedy, talented leadoff hitter who plays the middle infield, Oda was a key cog that helped Buford High continue its amazing streak of winning 10 straight state championships and finish 32-2 last fall.  Oda, listed as the #31 player in the 2018 FloSoftball Hot 100, batted .420 for the #1 overall ranked team in Georgia and, thanks to her 44 runs and 28 steals, was named the Class 5A State Player of the Year. Oda also came up clutch when it counted, stroking an RBI single in the tight 2-1 state title game win.

Sr. Brianna Perez (Alhambra, Martinez CA) null
Perez has been a well-known figure in the club world after following in the footsteps of her older sister, Kylee, a starting infielder at UCLA, and now the younger sibling has made her own mark. The UCLA signee and #1 ranked senior in the Hot 100 made the USA Softball Jr. National Team this year and earned many other honors including PGF All-American, USA Today 1st Team and CalHi Sports Ms. Softball State Player of the Year. Perez hit .592 this spring with six homers and 31 RBI. For her career, her batting average was .569 with 31 homers and 145 RBI, the first two marks putting her among the elite of the all-time greats in California prep history.

Sr. Danielle Romanello (Canterbury, St. Petersburg FL) null
Romanello returns as a 1st Team FloSoftball All-American and could have been placed at catcher (where she was slotted last year) or even outfielder, but her infield skills and power at the plate make her an ideal first base prospect. She batted .527 for her senior year and was remarkably consistent as her career mark was .516. The University of Florida signee has broken nearly every school record and has been the FHSAA Softball Player of the year as well as the Gatorade Player of the year in prior years and finished her high school career as a PGF All-American and Louisville Slugger Hit Club finalist as a senior. She is ranked as the #13-ranked player in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100

Sr. Sydney Sherrill (Southmoore, Moore OK) null
Sherrill made the USA Softball Jr. National Team this year after leading her team to a Class 6A state championship last fall. The third baseman, ranked #30 in the 2017 Hot 100 and a Florida State commit, batted .611 with 65 runs scored and even had 23 steals. Her honors included being named as the Gatorade State Player of the Year, 1st Team All-State and the Oklahoman Player of the Year.

Sr. Taylon Snow (Chino Hills CA) null
Snow has had a record-setting career, starting her freshman season when she set the CIF Southern Section record for most hits in a season (72) and she hasn't missed a beat since, ending her prolific career repeating as a 1st Team FloSoftball All-American and this year also being named a PGF All-American, CalHi Sports Ms. Softball State Player of the Year finalist and member of the USA Softball Jr. National Team. Ranked as the #5 player in the 2017 Hot 100, the Auburn commit batted .487 this year. In four years, the shortstop totaled 235 career hits and was a three-time CalHi Sports All-State pick. In 2014, Snow was the Golden State's Freshman of the Year.

Sr. Mary Katherine Tedder (Spain Park, Hoover AL) null
Tedder repeats as a First-Team FloSoftball All-American after batting .460 with 61 runs scored, nine home runs, an on-base percentage of .561 and 57 RBI as a senior. She earned ASWA State Player of the Year 7A (the largest class in Alabama) and also was honored as the Birmingham News Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-State. The shortstop is committed to Texas and is ranked #25 in the FloSoftball Hot 100. Teams pitched around Tedder after she hit 20 home runs and 74 RBIs in 2016 and she lead the Birmingham area with 33 walks.

So. Alynah Torres (Cactus, Glendale AZ) null
Torres repeats as a 1st Team FloSoftball All-American after having another mammoth year batting .630 with 68 hits, 55 runs scored, 13 doubles, 12 home runs and 69 RBI. The shortstop also had a .962 fielding percentage on her way to earning 1st Team All-Arizona. The Arizona State commit, who is ranked #32 in the FloSoftball 2019 Hot 100 and nicknamed "Jeter," showed how hot she can get when, in one game, she had three home runs and a double for 10 RBI with two of the long-balls being grand slams.

nullSo. Regan Weekly (The King's Academy, Seymour TN)
Regan hit .656 with a stellar .731 RISP (38 hits in 52 at-bats) and added seven home runs and 18 doubles with 52 RBI. Ranked as the #57 player in the FloSoftball 2019 Hot 100, she's headed to Dartmouth and flashed a steady glove as she made only three errors all season playing second base. The granddaughter of Univ. of Tennessee head coach Ralph Weekly and daughter of Tennessee Fury club coach Marc Weekly, Regan also came up big in the state playoffs as she hit .600 and knocked in eight runs.

nullSo. Madison Webber (The King's Academy, Seymour TN)
Another super sophomore from the Tennessee power that won the Class 2A State title, Maddie repeated as an All-State for the second year in a row as she helped lead her team to a 37-3 record. The first baseman hit .556 with a .603 average with runners in scoring position and had 15 home runs and 16 doubles with 71 RBI in just 40 games. At state, Maddie batted .600 with a pair of homers and four RBI. The Tennessee Vols commit is ranked #30 in the FloSoftball 2019 Hot 100.

Sr. Camryn Woodall (Keller TX)
null Woodall helped Keller go 35-6-1 and finish #14 in the FloSoftball FAB 50 as she caught on fire in the playoffs, hitting .563 with 27 hits and 23 RBI in her last 14 games. The Utah signee went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in to help Keller win the title and earn 6A State Championship Game MVP honors.  Her strong championship run helped her collect a bunch of other awards too including 6A State Tournament All-Tournament, 6A All-State and Dallas-Ft. Worth All-Metro Plex. For the year she batted .440 with 42 RBI and collected 59 hits in 41 games played.

Sr. Camryn Ybarra (Mission Viejo CA) null
Ybarra repeated as a 1st Team FloSoftball All-American as well as the Orange County Player of the Year in an area loaded with talent. She also helped led the Diablos, coached by her father Troy, to two CIF-Southern Section D2 titles during her prep career and helped her squad go 21-6 and finish #31 in the FloSoftball FAB 50 high school rankings as a senior. A standout defensive third baseman, the Oregon State signee is ranked #17 in the FloSoftball Hot 100 and also earned prestigious honors like being named a PGF All-American and Louisville Slugger Hit Club finalist. She batted .480 this spring--.533 in league play--with 33 RBI and only struck out twice in 102 at-bats this spring.
