First-Team FloSoftball All-Americans: Outfielders

Sr. Amanda Ayala (DePaul Catholic, Wayne NJ) null
Amanda bounced back after a rare broken femur injury sidelined her all of her junior season to earn 1st Team All-New Jersey honors after batting .510 with 49 hits including eight home runs. She also had 28 RBI and 42 runs scored and only struck out once all season.  Amanda is ranked #37 in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100 and is headed to Tennessee where she'll use her five-tool skill set to compete right away in the SEC.

Sr. Maci Fines (Sheldon, Sacramento CA) null
Maci capped a great career by getting her 200th and 201st career hits--a school record and top 15 in California history--in the Sac-Joaquin Section D1 Championship win with her final hit being a home run. The Sacramento Bee Player of the Year for the second season in a row (she shared it as a junior with her sister Jordan, now at Cal), Maci helped Sheldon go 30-2 and finish 13th in the final FloSoftball FAB 50 high school rankings and capture the section championship for the third consecutive season. On the year, the UC Santa Barbara-bound shortstop batted .496 with 61 hits, 47 runs, 26 RBIs and 11 triples.

Jr. Taylor Gindlesperger (Hamilton, Chandler AZ) null
Taylor helped lead her Arizona high school to a 30-6 record, a #20 national ranking in the FloSoftball FAB 50 high school poll and back-to-back state titles as she batted .555 with 71 hits including 21 doubles and nine home runs. She also had 50 RBI, 51 runs scored and stole 18-of-20 base attempts
in 35 games. The Indiana commit was named as a USA Today 3rd Team All-American and 1st Team Arizona All-State honoree.

Fr. Avery Goelz (Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton FL) null
Avery made a huge splash as a freshman, batting .552 with 12 home runs, 38 RBI, an on-base percentage of .631 and a slugging percentage of 1.137. The Florida commit ranked #3 in the FloSoftball 2020 Hot 100 event also went 14-for-14 in steals as she helped her team go 27-3 and finish #45 in the FloSoftball FAB 50 high school rankings. Avery alternated between the outfield and first base because her athletic skills helped slow down teams that slap or play small ball. Lakewood Ranch lost 1-0 in 11 innings in the Regional Finals (final 8), but she reached base all five times via walks, showing the respect opponents have for her excellent offensive abilities.

Sr. Reese Guevarra (Immaculate Heart Academy, Washington Township NJ)null
Reese repeated as the New Jersey Softball Player of the Year as her offensive and defensive skills helped IHA win the Non-Public A State Championship and finish 30-4. The UConn signee had 51 hits and ended her high school career with a school record 215. Reese batted .515 and only struck out once this season in 119 at-bats, matching her strikeout total her junior season when she had 111 at-bats.

Sr. Andrea Howard (La Cueva, Albuquerque NM) null
Andrea was the Gatorade Player of the Year after leading her team to an undefeated 28-0 mark and the Class 6A State title this spring, good enough to earn the #16 ranking in the FloSoftball FAB 50 high school rankings. She repeated as a 1st Team All-State honoree and the Albuquerque Journal Metro Player of the Year by batting .598 with 47 runs, 48 RBI and 10 home runs as a senior. The center fielder will stay instate to play for the Univ. of New Mexico.

Sr. Jenna Kean (Los Alamitos CA) null
Jenna was one of the top offensive catalysts in the nation this year and was a key cog for the Griffiths which knocked off previous No. 1 Norco in the CIF-Southern Section D1 championship to capture the FloSoftball #1 spot in the final FAB 50 high school rankings. Jenna, who was ranked #44 in the 2017 Hot 100 and is an Arizona signee, batted .556 in the regular season and playoffs and moved back in forth between batting lead-off and in the 9-spot to kick-start the line-up. In the big championship game, she got a big hit and steal and had the game-winning catch to close out the title win.

Sr. Livy Schiele (The Bishop's School, La Jolla CA) null
Livy repeats as a FloSoftball American and also was named a PGF All-American after a stellar senior year which saw her become the CIF-San Diego Section all-time leader in career runs with 203 and third in hits with 200, the only player in San Diego history to hit 200 in both categories. The Auburn signee and #24 player in the 2017 FloSoftball Hot 100 batted .533 with 48 hits of which 29 went for extra bases. Livy also had 45 runs scored and 16 steals to lead her team to its fourth straight league championship.

Sr. Alexa Schultz (Los Alamitos CA) null
Alexa joins Jenna Kean as another 1st Team FloSoftball All-American outfielder from Los Alamitos High as she too was key to the Griffins winning the FloSoftball High School National Championship. A PGF All-American and So Cal Sidelines 1st Team selection as well, Alexa batted .438 with eight home runs and 23 RBI. Known as a great defensive outfielder with power at the plate, Alexa was listed at #21 in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100 and has signed with Oklahoma.

Sr. Kendall Beth Sides (Sumiton Christian, Sumiton AL)null
Kendall put up video game-like numbers as she led her team to a 57-9 record and the Class 1A State title: in 66 games she batted .606 with 13 home runs, 13 triples, 109 runs scored and 85 RBI and perhaps most amazingly went 99-for-100 in steals. Ranked #27 in the FloSoftball Hot 100, the Alabama signee not surprisingly earned a truckload of other honors including PGF All-American, USA Today 2nd Team All-American and Gatorade State Player of the Year.

Sr. Kaylee Tow (North Hopkins, Madisonville KY) null
Kaylee repeats as a FloSoftball All-American and skyrocketed this year to earn practically every national honor: USA Softball Jr. National Team invitee, PGF All-American and USA today 1st Team All-American. The lefty centerfielder, who is ranked #15 in the FloSoftball 2017 Hot 100, is an Alabama commit and the Tide fans have to be eager to see her in the SEC after she helped her team go 36-5 to win a state title and finish #49 in the FloSoftball FAB 50 team rankings. Individually, she set state records with home runs (23) and runs (95) as she batted .623 with a .696 on-base percentage and also drove in 66 RBI on 86 hits. Her huge senior season helped Kaylee finish No. in Kentucky prep history in career hits, runs and home runs.

Sr. Rylie Unzicker (Millard South, Omaha NE) null
Rylie led South to a 29-7 record and Class A state title this year as she hit .500 with 18 home runs, 57 runs and 47 RBI. The Univ. of Nebraska commit also capped her prep career earning All-State honors for the fourth consecutive season and as a senior earned Gatorade State Player of the Year, PGF All-American and USA Today 3rd Team honors. Rylie's defense in center field combined with her all-around hitting prowess also helped her make the Lincoln Journal Star Super-State team

Sr. Alex Velazquez (Chanhessen MN)null
After moving from Colorado, where she won a state title at Granview (Aurora) High her sophomore year, Alex had a strong senior season batting .537 with a .643 on-base percentage and a stellar OPS of 1.616 to help lead her new team to a 3rd place finish at state. The Univ. of Minnesota commit played right field as a freshman, left field the next two seasons and center this season and in high school career was named All-State and All-Conference honors three times. Her standout play this season earned her PGF All-American status and a selection as a Louisville Slugger Hit Club finalist.
