Today we launch our extensive coverage of the FloSoftball 2019 Hot 100 Rankings.

After covering the elite players in the classes of 2014, '15, 16', 17' and '18--which you can access HERE -- we turn our attention to what is a very loaded 2019 class… especially at the pitcher and catcher positions.

In fact, researching and ranking the 2019's was the most difficult class of the eight we've done so far (we've done updates to the '15 and '16 classes) because it is very, very deep and talented!

The "Next 150 In"

No less than 50 of the players on the list below of those who seriously considered for the prestigious ratings would likely have made it any other year, but the '19 class is one of the strongest classes we've ever evaluated and we struggled on who made the cut and who didn't.

We strongly feel those ID'd below are excellent players from around the country who are have been--and will continue to be--closely watched as we look to update the lists in the future. These recruits are so close to being in the top group, it's very likely that several will be elevated into the Hot 100 when the '19 list is updated--probably next fall after we evaluate talent over the summer.

Until then, if players, parents and coaches want to refer to these athletes as making the "FloSoftball 2019 Hot 100 rankings, 101-250," that's entirely accurate and means an athlete is considered one of the best softball players in the nation!

How Players Are Chosen & Ranked

The Hot 100 is a combination of FloSoftball research and evaluations along with input from club coaches and college scouts who give us their opinions.
 
Ultimately, we take what is an initial list of thousands of players in a graduating class and cut it down to a consensus of who our panel of experts think are the most talented with the greatest potential to excel based on where they are now.

Many of these players haven't even played their freshmen year of high school ball so we appreciate it's very early in the evaluating process and mistakes will be made… but that's why we'll be updating the 2019 class several times before these great players hit their future college fields!
