Who made the catch of the year in college softball?
It just looked like a bunt fouled back. Nothing more.

And then Aubree Munro turned it into an all-time highlight.

The University of Florida catcher somehow snagged a bunt foul tip off the bat of Mississippi State's Carmen Carter in the seventh inning of their game Sunday in Gainesville. It didn't seem like Munro had any chance at the ball, yet she turned to her right, fully extended and caught it.

Amazing.

The catch and Munro's cat-like reflexes were good enough to make SportsCenter's Top 10 plays Sunday night. And it might end up being the catch of the year in college softball.

It's also worth noting how important it was for Florida. The Gators and Bulldogs were knotted at one in the seventh inning, and there was a runner on first with no outs when Munro caught the bunt foul ball. Florida pitcher Delanie Gourley then struck out two of the next three hitters to retire the side. The Gators ended up winning 3-1 in 10 innings.

The sequence was pivotal for Florida (45-3), which ranks No. 1 in the nation. Mississippi State, on the other hand, only has a 3-15 record in SEC play. The Gators swept the series from the Bulldogs and have now won 11 straight.

Munro certainly deserves an assist and tip of the cap for the latest victory.

There was another diving catch that made SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays.

Senior shortstop Kayla Winkfield made the miraculous grab robbing Kirsti Merritt of a single.
