Today, we continue our look at the top 100 players in the 2017 class… we’re spotlighting 10 each day as we count down from 100 to No. 1.

These players were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches who’ve seen them play all across the nation.

Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 90 to 81 with standout players from Alabama, Arizona, California (2), Georgia (2), Indiana (2), Maryland, Ohio and Oklahoma. Pictured above: Jenna Kean, a speedy slapper from California who's headed to the Pac-12.

null90—Savanna Copeland P/UT… St. Louis Esprit (Florida State)
Savannah is one of the top athletes in the Midwest and has the power bat to hit 275-foot home runs and the speed to fly around the bases home-to-home, but it’s in the circle where she was most heavily recruited.  She’s a smooth, but hard-throwing, right-hander who consistently hits the mid-to-upper 70’s.  The ace for the Esprit, Savanna helped the club team beat some of the top Gold teams in the country and is poised for a huge summer.  On offense, she’s likely to be found hitting in the 3-hole and anchors a strong Esprit offensive line-up.  Savanna committed to the Seminoles in the fall of her freshman year.

null89—Kara Bilodeau P… Atlanta Vipers – Vallery (Auburn)
Kara is a mid-to-upper 60’s hurler who some close to the Auburn program feel will be a lot like Tiger pitcher Makayla Martin—who’s a candidate for NCAA Div. I Freshman of the Year – when all is said and done.  Kara has a great work ethic and loves working out.  In the circle, she works up and down in the zone with a deceiving change-up. The Georgia standout is a tall (5-foot-9), athletic pitcher who also has good spins. She has been invited to the Canadian Junior National Team Tryout scheduled for next month in the hopes of playing in the 2020 Games in Japan.

null88—Hannah File 3B/UT… Beverly Bandits (James Madison)
Hannah was one of the key players on the Bandits DeMarini team that finished as runners-up in the PGF Nationals 16U Premier division last summer.  She had a .385 on-base percentage during the Nationals run and was second on the team with eight RBI in 12 games.  A strong all-around player, Hannah is the only returner on the 16U team as the coach requested to keep her as she’s such a valuable leader by example and attitude.  The Indiana junior bats for power and average and is a clutch hitter with the ability to stroke  at any level.  She’s also versatile enough to play all the infield and outfield positions and even pitches in high school.

null87—Nicole Duncan C/MIF… DeMarini Aces (Arkansas)
Nicole is a pure power hitter who slugged 11 home runs last summer – highest for the Aces – which hit over 50 as a team. She is a Missouri All-State honoree and hit 14 bombs for the season, one shy of the state record. Nicole is versatile in that she can play third and catcher primarily, but fill in at any position but pitcher; she had a 1.66 pop time at one Big 12 camp and prefers to be behind the plate.  Nicole moves well as a backstop, has good reactions off the bat and possesses a plus arm. Offensively, Nicole is a 5-hole hitter. She had strong SEC and Pac-12 interest before picking the Hogs.

null86—Trenity Edwards C/1B… EC Bullets (Missouri)
Trenity is a big (5-foot-8) and strong catcher who can play the corner spots and looks like an SEC player now.  She swings a strong bat and can drive the ball to the gaps or over the fence.  Defensively, Trenity has a rocket for an arm and can nail unsuspecting baserunners wandering too far off first or second.  As a junior last fall, she batted .484 with nine homers and 42 RBI and only allowed one steal all season. Trenity has already won a 6A State Championship in Oklahoma and had offers from ACC, Big 12 and SEC programs before she committed to Mizzou, where she’ll join her cousin, Kayla Kingsley.

null85—Abby Tissier C/1B… Birmingham Thunderbolts (Auburn)
Abby is tall at 5-foot-9 and athletic with the skills to play several positions including catcher, first base and the outfield.  She has a high ceiling and college scouts think her upside is immense.  Abby excels on offense and defensive with a power bat that has helped her hit 12 home runs with 41 RBI in her Alabama high school’s first 33 games this spring.  She’s also got a keen eye at the plate: as a freshman she only struck out twice all year. Defensively, Abby has a gun for an arm and has been clocked with a 1.75 pop time. She is also proficient at nailing baserunners with throws from her knees.

null84—Rachel Lewis SS/2B… Beverly Bandits (Northwestern)
Some close to the Beverly Bandits organization believe that Rachel is the most athletic player ever to put on a Bandit uniform. She has unbelievable speed with both her legs and her bat.  She’s been timed regularly at 2.6 and as low as 2.5 home-to-first.  This athleticism allows her to drop down a bunt and then steal two bases or jack the ball over the fence.  She can play the middle infield or outfield as she gets great jumps on the ball off the bat. The Cincinnati area player has been on the national radar for years and as a freshman made a big splash at the high school level when she led the Greater Miami Conference in hits (53), average (.546), OBP (.577), steals (19) and triples (6).

null83—Kiara Kennedy IF/UT… EC Bullets (Purdue)
Kiara is a power hitter with quick reflexes and hands so she’s adept at either corner spot.  She moves well laterally and can come in quickly to shut down the slapping game or get back on balls hit to shallow left field.  Kiara was an East Valley All-Tribune honoree as a centerfielder last year but this season is playing third base for her Arizona high school that’s been ranked in the Top 20 nationally.  She can drive the ball in the gaps and is a home run threat each at-bat, but also hits for average too: in the summer of 2015 Kiera hit a sparkling .660 at the 16U level before playing Gold last year.  This summer, she’ll be taking the field for the Georgia-based Bullets team.

null82—Jenna Kean OF/SS… Ohana Tigers (Arizona)
Jenna is the ideal lead-off sparkplug who can set the table for the power hitters following in the line-up.  She is super fast and is very skilled at controlling the ball in and where she puts it in the dirt before beating out the play at first. Jenna led the Tigers to a Top 10 finish last summer at the PGF Nationals (16U) as she led her team in average and hits (.458, 11-for-24), runs (6) and steals (5) playing in seven games.  She also led her club team to a 2nd place finish at the PGF Nationals (14U) where she hit .444. Her speed helps her on defense get great breaks on the ball and she has a strong arm to relay throws from the outfield.  Jenna committed to Arizona in January of 2015 over interest from major programs in the Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC.

null81—Ava Tillmann P/UT… Georgia Impact (Ole Miss)
Ava can dominate in the circle and at the plate and should make an immediate impact in the SEC.  She throws in the 64-66 mph range, has good movement on her pitches and is especially adept at keeping the ball down.  Ava helped lead her Georgia high school team to a 10-1 regional record and second-place finish in the region tournament. For the year, she had 203 K’s with a 1.53 ERA while hitting .410 and driving in 30 RBI.  Ava set a school record with 25 wins as a freshman and won 5AAA Region Player of the Year honors. She has a college frame right now which allows her to be a workhorse and pitch a ton of innings.
