Top Teams to Watch at the Hustle City Invitational

This inaugural tournament is packed with competitive teams from Missouri and Oklahoma. Here are the top teams to watch:

14U Division

Who: No. 18 Tulsa Elite 14U - Filali
When: 10:15AM & 1:45AM Saturday, 12:00PM Sunday
Why: Talented across the board, Tulsa Elite is led by 5-foot-11 lefty Brooke McCorkle, who came over from the Wichita Mustangs when they won the 2015 ASA 14A Southern National Championship. She and several other prospects are already receiving Big 12 and SEC interest.

Who: KC Zephyrs - Corona
When: 1:45PM & 5:15PM & 7:00PM Saturday, TBD Sunday
Why: This 14A squad just qualified for PGF. They have 2020 P/SS Kara Amos, who’s already receiving Division I attention not only for her pitching (low-60 mph range) but also her killer shortstop skills. Her Battery mate, 2019 Kaitlyn Kurtz, is a stud who hits in the middle of the order. You also need to watch 2021 pitcher Kenzie Schopfer, who is rumored to have a mean drop ball.

16U/18U Division

Who: Oklahoma Gametime Stars - Williams
When: 12:00PM & 5:15PM Saturday, 1:45PM Sunday
Why: The Gametime Stars brings 2019 C Madison Neighbors who committed to Oklahoma State University and will be able to make an immediate impact once she steps on campus. 2020 P Janelle Marwitz is one to watch. She spins the ball with good speed.

Who: KC Zephyrs - Wade
When: 12:00PM & 5:15PM & 8:45PM Saturday, 10:15AM Sunday
Why: This 16U Zephyr team is PGF-qualified. 2020 3B Aniya Holt already verbally committed to the University of Kansas. Other players to watch include 2017 catcher Taylor Nickel, 2017 P/1B Aubree Herrin, 2017 SS/2B Destiny Ojigoh, and 2018 P Maryssa Rollin. Don’t be surprised to see 2018 OF Macey Harrington hitting the long ball.

Who: Tulsa Elite Gold
When: 12:00PM & 7:00PM Saturday, 8:30AM & 12:00PM Sunday
Why: No. 20 FAB 50 team, Tulsa Elite 16U, keeps getting better finishing in the top five at the PGF Nationals. Two young talents to watch are 2020 third baseman/pitcher Paige Knight and 2019 outfielder Riley Boone, who both committed to Oklahoma. Two Oklahoma State-bound standouts are a pair of 2018s: outfielder/pitcher Mary Collins and catcher Taylor Tuck.

Who: Tulsa Elite 00 - Jacks
When: 10:15AM & 7:00PM Saturday, 1:45PM Sunday
Why: This team finished 3rd at Top Gun Invitational and 12th at TCS US Nationals last summer as a 1st year 14U team. They have players being recruited by several Big 12 and Top 25 programs. Read more

Who: St. Louis Chaos - Beatty
When: 10:15AM & 1:45PM & 5:15PM Saturday, 1:45PM Sunday
Why: Evan Beatty's St. Louis Chaos have become one of the premier teams out of the Missouri area. This Chaos team won the St. Louis Pre-Season ASA 18U Northern National Qualifier. Gabi Deters is one of the top 2019 catchers to watch, and leads her Chaos team behind the plate. Read more

Who: St. Louis Chaos - Gill
When: 12:00PM & 5:15PM Saturday
Why: St. Louis Chaos is rebuilding its program into a national powerhouse. Coach Rachel Gill said, "We’ve really tried to reestablish this organization as a national powerhouse. There were some gaps in the organization and we just really felt like it was our job and duty to reestablish this organization. We now have a team in every year and are working toward making the whole organization and national powerhouse instead of just a couple teams." Read more
