On Friday, October 28, sisters Emma and Olivia Guindon were on their way to the the Scrap Yard to play in the Ronald McDonald Tournament in Conroe, Texas. Emma was making a turn when a truck reportedly crashed into the passenger side of their vehicle.

Both sisters were rushed to the hospital. Emma suffered a severe concussion, and a part of her ear was severed but has been reattached.

Conditions worsened for Olivia who was life-flighted from the Woodlands Hospital to Memorial Hermann. It's reported that she is in a medically induced coma with multiple skull fractures and a broken sternum.

Because of Olivia's severe head trauma, the pressure on her brain has fluctuated. The doctors have been monitoring the pressure using that to gauge whether or not she will have surgery.

After the accident, Olivia has not been conscious.

It's a very emotional time for the family but they are standing strong during this difficult time. Both of their parents work for the church and are receiving lots of family support.

After the two games on Friday, Manager Richard Bass broke the news to the team. There was a wave of emotions that ensued.

On Saturday, the team could not help but be affected emotionally by this tragedy.

Opposing teams heard about the accident and asked the Texas Peppers if they could pray for Olivia and Emma with the team. Bass received numerous messages from friends and family regarding the accident. He comments, "It's a remarkable comment on the softball community that we still kind of get what this is all about. The showing of love and support has been tremendous. It makes me very proud to be involved in this awesome softball community."

The next 24 hours are very critical for Olivia. The Texas Peppers and her family asks that you pray for her healing during this time.

10/31/2016 Update:

Message from Amber Guindon:

"Olivia is still critical and heavily sedated. But the doctors are watching her very closely. It's a long waiting game right now.

Emma did not pass concussion protocol over the weekend so she is still in the hospital. We are hoping to bring her home soon. She was able to see her brothers yesterday and that helped."

11/1/2016 Update:

Emma was released today. We remain on strict concussion protocol but... she's home. Olivia is fighting hard! She has passed the 96 hour. That was a big hurdle. Lots of testing on her brain tomorrow and waiting for results on her EEG.

11/6/2016 Update:
Olivia is starting to move more. She is fighting the vent some, which is signs of her waking up.

The medical staff are trying to be as slow and gentle as possible with drug reducing. We still have no ideas the extent of the effects of her brain injury.

Please continue to pray. Pray that she wakes up well and the early initial signs show us great news. We need a "good news day."
