What You Need to Know About the Ivy League
For most families, the Ivy League doesn't seem like much of an option. But what you don't know is that there is so much opportunity for players who dream of having an Ivy League degree.

If you're like me, when I heard NO athletic scholarships and NO academic scholarships, I thought NO WAY.

But I learned that programs like Dartmouth offer a need-based financial aid system.

What does that mean?

The need-based financial aid system operates on a sliding scale depending on your how much you and your family can afford. Financial aid calculators are provided at each Ivy League School website.

Here is a list of Ivy League financial aid calculators:

Brown University
Columbia University
Cornell University
Dartmouth University
Harvard University
Princetown University
Pennsylvania University
Yale University

Some student-athletes may think they don't have the brains to make it into an Ivy League school. But Ivy athletic departments receive a certain number of applications that can be "supported" each year, which can play a pivotal role in the admissions process.

Make no mistake: getting an Ivy League degree is challenging. But the reward of an Ivy League degree is worth every penny--just ask Dartmouth's Kelsey Miller.

Attending the Ivy League comes with a number of valuable academic resources to help student-athletes succeed in the classroom.

Dartmouth has a 99% student-athlete graduation rate.

Support from Dartmouth stretches well beyond graduation with alumni that are very involved in continuing the college's legacy. It's very common Dartmouth's alumni network to seek out current student-athletes for potential employment opportunities even before graduation.

"The Ivy League is a special place that really puts an emphasis on life after college. Winning games and championships is a great feeling, but there really is no feeling like the feeling of knowing your players are going to go on and make a difference is the world, that's what this is all about." —Dartmouth Head Coach, Shannon Doepking.
