Rising Star: 2019 Pitcher Brooke Huitt in Command
Living in a town with a population of just over 2,000 people, Brooke Huitt emerged as the 2019 standout pitcher from Lathrop, Missouri. Many batters have fallen victim to her rise ball.

nullWhen asked what  she loved about pitching she explained,

I like having the ball in my hand every play of the game. I like being in control and command.
From the age of four, Huitt followed the path of softball that led her to the exciting reality of being recruiting to go to school and play softball. She spoke as though she's the luckiest girl in the world. "It's been a lot of fun. I didn't really expect to be like it is. Softball has given me a lot different opportunities. I've been very blessed to have all of these different opportunities." Huitt said.

She's taken unofficial visits to UMKC, William Jewell and plans to visit more schools this winter.

During a time when players are feeling the pressure to commit early, Huitt is composed.

My parents are encouraging me to take my time. It's a lot to make a decision at this age. My mom tells me that, 'In the end I'll end up where God wants me to be.' So I just put that in perspective. I know that whatever school I end up being at I'm meant to be at.
If Huitt had to choose to stay home or go out of state, she welcomes both options.
