Effective immediately the Scrap Yard Dawgs 18U/16U teams and the Sudden Impact 18U/16U teams are launching a new collaborative effort under the auspices of the AEGIS Foundation that will retain the storied histories of both organizations. The 18U team will be co-coached by Todd Leach (SI) and Connie May (SYD). The 16U team will be coached by Tommy Colonnetta and Paul McGary.

In this, our first year, we will have one 18U team and one 16U team. Both teams will be called the Scrap Yard Internationals. The younger teams will retain their current individual organizational names.

Tryouts for the 18U/16U Scrap Yard Internationals are scheduled for Wednesday, August 9, at the Scrap Yard Sports Complex, 29607 Robinson Road, situated between Oak Ridge North and Imperial Oaks on Robinson Road about two miles east of The Woodlands, Texas.

You MUST Register Online for Tryouts

Once your registration is accepted, you will receive an email with further instructions and details on the tryout.

Off the Field -- The Aegis Foundation

The AEGIS Foundation provides unlimited, year round, individualized, one-on-one academic tutoring sessions IN ALL SUBJECTS in grades 7-12, as well as ACT/SAT prep courses. We believe that competitive athletics allows young athletes to learn life skills such as planning and preparing to succeed, learning from and responding to failure, making good choices in pressure situations, learning to be responsible to themselves and others, and -perhaps most importantly -- learning to be effective members of a team.

On the Field -- Elite Coaching Staff

The Scrap Yard staff of coaches and instructors is comprised of nationally recognized coaches, including NCAA Division I All-Americans, WCWS coaches, National Pro Fastpitch Championship coaches, and All-Pro players with NPF Championship, World Championship and Olympic Championship playing experience. These coaches use insights gained from their personal experience playing at the highest levels to provide individualized instruction, skills training and personal development for all of our players, at all levels and in all facets of the game.

The Scrap Yard Internationals Experience

The Scrap Yard Internationals experience is team focused. The 16s and 18s travel as a team on our own buses and vans, and by air as needed. At home, all teams practice in a safe and secure environment that includes 14 batting cages and 10 ballfields. This includes the Scrap Yard Dawgs Stadium, home to our National Pro Fastpitch games and a host location for our partners, the USA Softball National Team as they prepare for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. We are currently developing plans with our partners in the Japan Softball Association to take our 16s and 18s to Japan to play a series of games against the Japanese High School All Stars in the Olympic Stadium in 2018.
