USSSA Pride will battle the Scrap Yard Dawgs LIVE on FloSoftball on Saturday, August 5 at 6:05 PM CST from Viera, Florida. The rivalry between these two clubs has been intensifying over the years and fans would bet that we'll see these two teams battling for the Cowles Cup on August 20. 

USSSA Pride (32-8)

With 12 home runs and 27 RBIs, Shelby Pendley now leads the league in home runs. Her teammates Chelsea Goodacre, Sierra Romero, and Lauren Chamberlain are in a 5-way tie for third in home runs. Romero is second in the league in RBIs with 29. But the real offensive threat is Kelly Kretschman who leads the league in six different hitting categories: hits, runs, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and doubles. To complement the Pride's offense, they have a handful of pitchers that have been dynamite this season. Keilani Ricketts, Angel Bunner, and Jolene Henderson have been stellar in the circle with ERAs under two. But it's Jordan Taylor who has really shined in the closer role shutting down hitters with a frightening .875 ERA.

Scrap Yard Dawgs (29-14)

Monica Abbott recently threw the first no-hitter in Scrap Yard Dawgs history and only the second one of the season. The Dawg's pitching staff has their work cut out for them going against the strongest hitting team in the league. With 193 strikeouts, it's no surprise that million dollar arm Abbott is No. 1 in strikeouts. Surprisingly, Abbott isn't the league leader in ERA it's her teammate All-American Cheridan Hawkins destroying the opposition with a 0.76 ERA. But Abbott still dominates the circle leading in four out of six pitching categories. On offense, Taylor Edwards has been on fire leading the league in RBIs with 34 RBIs. Allexis Bennett is having a phenomenal rookie season with 49 hits, 12 stolen bases with a .366 batting average. This game will go down to the wire.
