Glory is undefeated in only 6 matches on the year and there was speculation on whether or not he’d move up to 133. However, coach Ayres recently confirmed that Glory will stay at 125 for the remainder of the season. 

Brandon Kaylor has had a bit of an up-and-down year with wins over #15 Dean Peterson and #9 Malik Heinselman but losses to #13 Trevor Mastrogiovanni, #17 Brett Ungar, #8 Liam Cronin, #11 Matt Ramos, and #17 Ethan Berginc.

Glory and Kaylor last met in the quarter-finals of the 2022 NCAA tournament where Glory came out on top, 7-3. Glory is certainly the favorite in their match on Friday night. One thing that could make this match more competitive is if they start the dual at 125. Considering Glory’s challenges to hold 125, the short time off the scale would help Kaylor in this potential match.

Jason Shaner is putting together a solid season in his first year starting for the Beavers. Shaner has ranked wins on the year over Kai Orine, Chance Rich, and Sam Latona making him a big favorite over Pierson in their match on Friday. Pierson is only 5-7 on the year and hasn't recorded a ranked win.

The matchup at 141 between Belton and Coles could be crucial in deciding the outcome of the dual. Belton is the favorite based on the year he’s put together so far this season - Belton has a ranked wins over #22 Parker Filius while Coles’ best win is HM Sammy Alvarez. However, Coles defeated Belton last year, 8-7 and we should expect a similar close bout on Friday night.

149: Noah Tolentino, Oregon State vs Rocco Camillaci, Princeton

Like at 141, the matchup between Camillaci and Tolentino is a toss-up that could prove important to deciding the dual. Both wrestlers aren’t in the top 33 and have yet to record a ranked win on the season.

157: Isaiah Crosby/Graham Gambrall, Oregon State vs Ty Whalen, Princeton

157 will feature equally matched wrestlers in either Gambrall and Crosby for Oregon State and Whalen for Princeton. All 3 wrestlers have not yet defeated a ranked wrestler and at this point are fringe national qualifiers. This should be a competitive bout but is also incredibly challenging to predict. Whalen is the only wrestler of the three with a winning record and is coming off a great performance at the David Lehman Open - for that reason, he’s my pick to come out on top.

165: #18 Matthew Olguin, Oregon State vs #4 Quincy Monday, Princeton

Returning 157-pound NCAA runner-up Quincy Monday has officially bumped up to 165 and will stay at the weight for the remainder of the season. Monday also recently won the Midlands where he had ranked wins over HM Holden Heller, #11 Dan Braunagel, and #5 Dean Hamiti. 

Olguin has had a bit of a roller-coaster season with ranked wins over #20 Wyatt Sheets, #21 Bubba Wilson, HM Will Formato, HM Enrique Munguia, and HM Brian Meyer but losses to unranked Dalton Harkins, #9 Julian Ramirez, #3 David Carr, #17 Alex Facundo, and #22 Josh Ogunsanya. Olguin will be a big underdog against Monday but hasn’t been bonused yet this season and should be able to keep the bout to a decision.

174: #22 Aaron Olmos, Oregon State vs Kole Mulhauser, Princeton

Aaron “Mateo” Olmos is coming off his best win of the season - a 9-4 decision over All-American #5 Dustin Plott. Kole Mulhauser has been solid this year but has yet to secure a win over a ranked wrestler. Olmos definitely has the edge coming into this match but it should be competitive.

184: #7 Trey Munoz, Oregon State vs Nate Dugan, Princeton

After falling one match shy of All-American honors last year, Trey Munoz put together a great first half of the season. He dropped a match to #15 Lenny Pinto at the CKLV but has ranked wins over #12 Travis Wittlake, #16 Brian Soldano, #20 Tate Samuelson, and #4 Marcus Coleman. Look for Munoz to push for bonus points against Dugan, who has yet to record a ranked win on the year.

197: #19 Tanner Harvey, Oregon State vs #24 Luke Stout, Princeton

The match between Tanner Harvey and Luke Stout has the potential to be the best match of the night and could decide what team comes out on top. While they’re both ranked in the lower half of the top 33, both have put together solid seasons up to this point in the year and will be All-American threats come March. Harvey has ranked wins over HM Luke Surber, #20 Kordell Norfleet, and #22 Andy Smith while Stout’s only ranked win is an impressive 11-3 major decision over #21 Cam Caffey. This is a true toss-up match that is incredibly challenging to predict but I’ll go with Harvey because of his ability to wrestle at a high pace for 7 minutes and the consistency he’s wrestled with this year.

Luke Stout believes in his ability to make the NCAA podium:

285: J.J. Dixon/Ryan Reyes, Oregon State vs Matt Cover/Travis Stefanik, Princeton

I think J.J. Dixon gets the nod as the starter after a recent close loss to HM Konner Doucet. Dixon has yet to record a ranked win on the year but has wrestled tough against ranked heavyweights. For Princeton, Matt Cover and Travis Stefanik have put together similar seasons to Dixon. That means, on paper at least, this heavyweight bout should be highly competitive. 

Prediction: Cover/Stefanik by decision

Team score prediction: Oregon State 16, Princeton 15

I’ve predicted Oregon State to win by 1 point off a bonus point win at 184. However, this dual could look much different with the number of toss-up matches between these two teams. Princeton could flip my prediction by simply winning one of the toss-ups at 141 or 197. On the other hand, Oregon State could win by a considerable margin if they win at 149 and 157. Regardless of what happens, this should be an incredibly exciting dual from start to finish and will be worth tuning into Friday night!
