Defending champion Georgia Impact Caymol returns to headline the field of the 2023 PGF 16U National Championships, beginning July 21.

The 2022 winners are part of an outstanding field heading to Orange County, California — a field that includes last year's runner-up the Birmingham Thunderbolts Kaplan.

A bevy of the country's top 16U softball clubs will look to deny last season's finalists a return to the championship round, and there's no shortage of elite talent spread throughout the PGF National Championships' rosters.

Count the Beverly Bandits Holloway lineup among the contenders.

A roster featuring a number of 2024 recruits already committed to Division I programs — such as University of Illinois pledges Danika Frazier and Keirys Clark — and up-and-coming 2025 prospects such as Marist High School teammates Breanna Hanik and Gabriella Novickas, make up the squad for the seven-time national championship-winning Beverly Bandits club.

Fellow Illinois-based team, the Illinois Chill Gold, head to California with a pair of 2024 Big Ten Conference commits in Wisconsin-bound Kendra Lewis and Michigan State target Jacey Schuler. The Illinois Gold also have Brooke Kuczynski, who committed to Florida Atlantic.

The Texas Riptide return to the mix and could be one of the top teams to watch. The Riptide roster includes two of the leading prospects of the 2025 recruiting class, Khamari Hall and Alisa Sneed.

Also representing the Lone Star State, Texas Sudden Impact Jones will look to make a splash at the PGF National Championships. Sudden Impact boast one of the most dangerous hitters embarking on the OC, Anya German.

The 2024 catcher and infielder is headed to Creighton. Before she looks to tee off BIG EAST Conference pitchers, she'll try to take the opposition of the PGF National Championships yard.

Local squad SoCal Athletics Grimm will try to ride their "home-field" advantage, of sorts, making the short trip to Huntington Beach from Irvine.

The team features a list of standouts that includes 2025 prospect Allie Lukaszewicz and Ava Giglio, a 2024 recruit and All-California Interscholastic Federation honoree from Irvine's Northwood High School.

The 2023 PGF 16U National Championships runs through July 29, promising the best in club softball throughout the week.
