CCAA Softball Tournament 2025 Teams

Here are the eight teams competing in the CCAA Softball Championship:

No. 1 Cal State East Bay Softball

2025 Record:  38-11, 26-10 CCAA

What to Know: Sporting a team earned run average of 1.80, Cal State East Bay heads to the CCAA Softball Championship with the best ERA in the conference and seventh-best in the NCAA Division. II.

The Pioneers come in having allowed 15 combined runs over their 11 wins in the month of April.

At the center of Cal State East Bay's dominance from the circle are starters Marissa Quintero and Ashlee Toy. The two embark on the postseason with ERAs of 1.20 and 1.82, respectively, and each has WHIPs of less than 1.00.

No. 2 San Francisco State Softball

2025 Record: 34-18, 21-15

What to Know: SFSU leads the conference across a number of offensive categories in CCAA, including a team batting average of .305; a .390 on-base percentage, and 59 stolen bases on 70 attempts.

Kai DeLeon leads the Gators with a .407 batting average and .455 on-base percentage, while Marley Gonzales sports a .351 batting average and .407 on-base percentage. The duo's ability to get aboard is key for SFSU, as they've combined for 50 steals across the Gators' entire slate.

No. 3 Cal State San Marcos Softball

2025 Record: 35-18, 21-15

What to Know: Starting right-handed pitcher Jayline Sloss is well-versed in elevating her game come postseason. As the CCAA Pitcher of the Year in 2024, she stepped up to lead the Cougars to last season's tournament championship with 14 strikeouts over four games at the event.

In 2025, Sloss is again among the conference's premier pitchers with a 2.51 ERA and CCAA-best 99 strikeouts through the regular season.

CSUSM also builds off of the experience of Madison Waymire at the plate. Waymire was a catalyst for the Cougars' 2024 championship, and she leads the team with eight home runs heading into this year's edition.

No. 4 Sonoma State Softball

2025 Record: 34-21, 21-15

What to Know: Sonoma State draws hosting duties for this year's CCAA Softball Championship, and that bodes well for the Seawolves given their recent play. They are winners in 10-of-11 at Seawolf Field dating back to late March, including winning seven straight at home in their final two series there.

Amari Houston and Sophia Newcomb have combined to be the CCAA's most prolific base-stealing tandem with 53 combined swipes. Sonoma State has also gotten outstanding pitching production from Charlie Johnson, who sports a 1.65 ERA in 178 1/3 innings of work.

No. 5 Cal State San Bernardino Softball

2025 Record: 26-26, 18-18

What to Know: The Coyotes look to shock the field of the CCAA Championship behind the big bat of the conference's most productive hitter.

Tereise Tosi's CCAA-best 14 home runs also put her among the top 25 long-ball hitters in the nation. The dangerous Tosi is also sporting an incredible 1.345 OPS. Her 47 RBI led the conference, along with her .462 batting average.

Backing up Tosi is Bri Goris, who has belted eight home runs this season to rank among the top five in the CCAA.

No. 6 Cal State Dominguez Hills Softball

2025 Record: 31-24, 18-18

What to Know: Dropping its final two regular-season games, CSUDH dropped to the last spot in the CCAA Championship. Despite its status as the No. 6 seed, this team has the weapons to make a run to the crown — and the Toros' running begins with Alexis Aguado.

Aguado's 30 stolen bases lead the CCAA. She has been caught stealing just twice. With her ability to set the table, the Toros have a trio of consistent hitters able to capitalize with Jay Ross, home-run hitter Kaylee Hull, and Mireya Rico all delivering 30-plus RBI on the season.
