The 2026 college softball season is almost here! With the season getting started on Jan. 30, here is everything to know about LSC softball.

The 2026 college softball season is officially almost here! With the season getting underway as early as Jan. 30, the anticipation to see these teams take the field has never been higher.

In Division 2, the Lone Star Conference is arguably one of the best softball conferences in the country. With teams consistently in super regionals and the D2 College Softball World Series, these 17 teams are never ones to take likely.
With the preseason poll releasing on Jan. 21, there has never been a better time to talk about D2 softball.
So without further ado, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming season of LSC Softball. We will break down the preseason poll and give you a quick glimpse in to each team.
The 2026 LSC Preseason Poll
Here is where all of the teams are slated to finish in the LSC softball race this year!

UT Tyler Softball
The UT Tyler Patriots slot in as the first place pick in the LSC poll. The two-time defending National Champions will look to go make history and attempt to three-peat in the 2026 season. With former head coach Mike Reed stepping down in to a full-time administrative roll, the Patriots are still set to have a great season.
UT Tyler lands two athletes on the LSC Players/Pitchers to watch list. Lauren Granger gets on the LSC Players to Watch list after a 2025 season with the WTAMU Lady Buffs saw a .413 batting average with 16 home runs and 47 RBIs. Kendall Selitzky also claims a spot on LSC Pitchers to Watch list.
Another transfer to the Patriots from WTAMU, Selitzky dominated the circle with a 2.04 ERA with a 7-1 win/loss record. With 40 strikeouts through 61.2 innings of work, Selitzky will be a force for the Patriots.

West Texas A&M Softball
The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs come in second in the LSC Preseason poll. WTAMU reached the South Central Regional tournament in 2025, but game up just short against the Patriots in the finals.
The Lady Buffs also land two on the LSC Players & Pitchers To Watch List. Cadence Colborn gets on the LSC Players to watch list after a 2025 season that ended with a .432 average with nine home runs and 51 RBIs.
Laci Pesky is the Pitcher to Watch selection for WTAMU. The transfer from Black Hills State transfer had a good run in the circle in the 2025 season. Pesky ended the season with a.232 ERA with 23-8 win loss record. The pitcher totaled 245 strikeouts in the circle in the 2025 season at Black Hills State.
Head coach Michael Mook was also just extended until Summer of 2028, so the Lady Buffs are in great hands.

Angelo State Softball
The Angelo State Rambelles slot in at third in the LSC preseason poll. ASU finished its 2025 season in the South Central Regional tournament.
Angelo State doesn't return much from the 2025 roster, but the Rambelles have a secret weapon in Tatiana Trotter. Trotter has been named the LSC's Preseason Player of the Year. The Rambelle had a massive season at ASU for 2025, ending her season with a .326 averge with 14 home runs and 48 RBIs. Trotter was also named the LSC Golden Glove winner in the outfielder.
Ashleigh Dendas clocks in as the Rambelles selection to the Pitchers to Watch List. Dendas is the transfer to ASU from DI Cal State Fullerton. During her time in the circle she accumulated a career ERA of 8.91 through nine appearances in the circle with 11 strikeouts.
Angelo State Softball Schedule

Oklahoma Christian Softball
Oklahoma Christian slots in the fourth spot in this 2026 LSC preseason ranking. The Eagles went 38-21 overall in the 2025 season and played in the NCAA Regional tournament.
The Eagles are extremely talented in the circle as Jill Dickson comes in as the LSC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. The senior pitcher had a great showing in the circle in the 2025 season. Dickson slotted a 2.76 ERA in the circle boasting at 14-6 win/loss record. With 106.1 innings of work, the pitcher struck out 118 batters and will look to better her performance in the 2026 season.
Marti Yaerger earns a place on the LSC Players to Watch List. The sophmore catcher made her mark during her freshman campagin in 2025. In Yaerger's first season, she ended with a .396 batting average with 42 hits and 20 RBIs.
Oklahoma Christian Softball Schedule
The season starts on Jan. 30 for the Eagles. Here is the team's schedule on FloCollege.
Lubbock Christian Softball
Lubbock Christian rounds out the top five in this LSC preseason poll. The Lady Chaps ended the 2025 season with a 36-22 overall record. LCU reached the NCAA Regional tournament.
Kaden Vire is the Lady Chaps Player to Watch for the 2026 season. The now sophomore ended her opening season with a .328 batting average with three home runs and 28 RBIs. Vire also had 14 stolen bases during her freshman campaign.
Ashlinn Hamilton is the Pitcher to Watch selection for LCU. In the 2025 season, the pitcher carried a 3.40 average in the circle. With a 2-1 win/loss record and through 22.2 innings of work, the pitcher struck out 10 batters.
Lubbock Christian Softball Schedule

Cameron Softball
The Cameron Aggies head in to the 2025-26 softball season slotted in the sixth spot for this LSC preseason poll.
After a 29-24 overall season and a perfect. 500 LSC appearance at 22-22, the Aggies will look to better their results from last season and be in the top half of this LSC pack.
Madysen Boutwell lads on the Players to Watch list for Cameron. The third baseman ended her 2025 campaign with a .373 average with eight home runs and 51 RBIs.
Stormee Reed lands on the Pitchers to Watch list. The pitcher ended the 2025 season with a 3.87 ERA out of the circle. Reed recorded 169 strikeouts through 171 innings of work for the Aggies.

Eastern New Mexico Softball
The Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds find themselves in seventh place in the preseason poll.
With a 30-25 regular season record and a 23-21 LSC record, the Greyhounds are in a prime spot to make an appearance in another LSC tournament after a successful 2025 season.
Christina Meneses lands on the Players to Watch list for the Greyhounds. The infielder ended the 2025 season with a .358 average out of the batter's box. Meneses also recorded seven home runs and 46 RBIs in her 2025 campaign.
Miranda Guillen is the Pitcher to Watch selection for ENMU. The now sophomore ended her 2025 season with a 3.13 ERA from the circle. With a 15-5 win/loss record, Guillen struck out 132 batters through 134.1 innings of work.
Eastern New Mexico Softball Schedule
The Greyhounds are in action on Jan. 30. Here is the team's schedule on FloCollege.
St. Edward's Softball
The St. Edward's Hilltoppers come in eighth in the preseason poll, which at this moment would secure the team a spot in the LSC tournament.
After a 27-28 regular season record and a 21-23 LSC record, the Hilltoppers are looking to improve their rank from the 2025 season.
Sloane Hill is the Player to Watch selection for St.EU. The catcher ended the 2025 season with a .325 average out of the box. Hill also contributed 42 RBIs and 15 doubles to the Hilltoppers efforts.
Kylen Padgett is the Pitcher to Watch selection for the Hilltoppers. In her junior season, the pitcher boasted a 9-9 win/loss record with a 3.76 ERA. Through 111.2 innings of work Padgett struck out 65 batters.
St. Edward's Softball Schedule
The Hilltoppers kickoff their 2026 campaign on Jan. 30. Here is the schedule on FloCollege.
St. Mary's Softball
The St. Mary's Rattlers round out the last of the LSC tournament eligible teams if going off the preseason poll, sliding in at ninth place.
The Rattlers ended the 2025 season with a 26-29 overall record and a 21-23 record in LSC play.
Gabriela Banda is the Player to Watch selection for St. Mary's. The infielder posted a .326 average in the box in the 2025 season. Banda was responsible for six homeruns and 45 RBIs.
Emily Ayala is the Pitcher To Watch selection. The right-hander ended the 2025 season with a 3.05 ERA out of the circle. Ayala carried an 8-6 win/loss record and through 101 innings of work struck out 44 batters.
St. Mary's Softball Schedule
The Rattlers start the season on Jan. 30. Here is the schedule on FloCollege.
Texas A&M Kingsville Softball
The Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas will round out the top-ten of the LSC pre-season poll.
In the 2025 season, the Javelinas ended with a 24-31 overall season record with an LSC record of 19-25.
Alunah Almaraz is the Player to Watch section for the Javelinas. The transfer from UT Tyler ended her freshman campaign with a .260 average from the box. Almaraz tallied seven doubles and 13 RBIs.
Esther Martinez is the Pitcher to Watch selection. The now-sophomore ended her freshman campaign with a 4.09 ERA out of the circle. With a 5-11 win/loss record, the pitcher struck out 48 batters through 116.1 innings of work.
Texas A&M Kingsville Softball Schedule
The Javelinas are kicking the season off on Jan. 30. Here is the schedule on FloCollege.
Texas A&M International Softball
The Texas A&M International Dustdevils come in 11th in the LSC preseason poll.
The 2025 season saw TAIMU go 24-31 overall and 17-25 in LSC play.
Kennedy Griego is the Player to Watch selection for the Dustdevils. The third-baseman ended the 2025 season with a .402 average from the batter's box. Griego tallied 16 doubles and 19 RBIs. Griego was also the LSC Gold Glove recipient at third-base.
Kylie Goad is the Pitcher to Watch selection for TAIMU. Goad ended the 2025 season with a 3.66 ERA out of the circle. With a 5-133 win/loss record, the pitcher struck out 44 in her 128 innings of work.
Texas A&M International Softball Schedule
The Dustdevils are ready to get to work on Jan. 30. Here is the schedule on FloCollege.
Texas Woman's Softball
The Texas Woman's Pioneers come in 12th in the LSC preseason poll.
After a 2025 season that saw the Pioneers go 21-29 overall and 17-27 in LSC, Texas Woman's will be on the hunt to find a seat in the LSC tournament this season.
Tamia Cherry was named to the Players to Watch list. The freshman will hit the field for the very first season with Texas Woman's and will look to make an immediate impact.
Randi Crawford is the Pitcher to Watch for TWU. Crawford ended her 2025 season with a 4.07 ERA in the circle for the Pioneers. With a 11-9 win/loss record, the pitcher struck out 103 batters through 127.1 innings of work.

Midwestern State Softball
The Midwestern State Mustangs slot in spot 13 for the LSC Preseason Poll.
The Mustangs ended the 2025 season 20-33 overall and 17-27 in LSC play and will look to work their way back in to the middle of the pack in the 2026 season.
Chipper Mayorga is the Player to Watch selection for the Mustangs. The freshman will starter her 2025 campaign for MSU and will look to make an immediate impact.
Kayleigh Bowers is the Pitcher to Watch selection for MSU. Bowers ended her 2025 campaign with a 4.82 ERA out of the circle. With a 6-8 win/loss record, the pitcher struck out 56 through 113.1 innings of work.
Midwestern State Softball Schedule
The Mustangs are in action on Jan. 30. Here is the schedule on FloCollege
Western New Mexico Softball
The Western New Mexico Mustangs are in spot 14 in the LSC Preseason Poll.
The Mustangs look to improve after a 2025 season left the team 16-37 overall and 13-31 in LSC play.
Lauryn Carbajal is the Player to Watch selection for WNMU. The outfielder tallied a .381 average in the batter's box in the 2025 season. Carbajal ended the season with nine home runs and 35 RBIs.
Labraida Tenorio is the Pitcher to Watch Selection after a 2025 season that ended with a 7.40 ERA out of the circle. With a 2-12 win/loss record, the pitcher recorded 46 strikeouts through 104 innings of work.
Western New Mexico Softball
The Mustangs start action on Jan. 30. Here is the schedule on FloCollege.
UT Dallas Softball
The UT Dallas Comets will slot in spot 15 in their first LSC Preseason poll. The newcomer to the conference will enter after an overall successful season in their final year of D3 softball.
The Comets ended the 2025 season with a 17-18 overall record.
Claire Pollack is the Player to Watch selection for UTD. The utility woman ended the 2025 season with a .431 average out of the box. Pollack also racked up eight doubles, three home runs and 18 RBIs.
Allison Koch is the Pitcher to Watch selection for the Comets. Koch ended the 2025 season with a 3.59 ERA out of the circle for UTD. with a 5-6 win/loss record, the pitcher struck out 71 through 89.2 innings of work.
UT Dallas Softball Schedule
The Comets will start their inaugural LSC season on Jan. 30. Here is the schedule on FloCollege.
Sul Ross State Softball
The Sul Ross State Lobos will clock in at spot 16 in this LSC Preseason poll.
The Lobos had some growing pains in the 2025 season ending 11-42 overall and 8-36 in LSC play. Under the new coaching leadership of Lacey Middlebrooks, the Lobos return 14 to kick off the 2026 season.
Elizabeth Clemente is the Player to Watch selection for the Lobos. Clemente ended her 2025 campaign with a .281 average in the box. The infielder picked up four doubles and 11 RBIs in the 2025 season.
Larryn Rooks will be the Pitcher to Watch selection for SRSU. The pitcher ended the 2025 season with a 10.41 ERA over 23.3 innings of work. Rooks was selected to the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 LSC Commissioners Honor Roll.
Sul Ross State Softball Schedule
The Lobos are in action action on Jan. 30 for the 2026 season. Here is the schedule on FloCollege.
UT Permian Basin Softball
The final team in the LSC Preseason Poll sees the UT Permian Basin Falcons come in at 17th.
The Falcons ended the 2025 season 9-45 overall and 4-40 in LSC play.
Keri Sanford is the Play to Watch selection for UTPB. Sanford ended the 2025 season with a .371 average in the box. The Falcon picked up five triples and RBIs for the team.
Jessica Cantrell is the Pitcher to Watch selection for the Falcons. Cantrell ended her freshman campaign with a 3.94 ERA out of the circle for UTPB. With a 5 -13 win/loss record, the pitcher struck out 103 batters through 135 innings of work.
