OU Softball Survives Extra Innings Battle Against Cal State Fullerton

The 2026 Mary Nutter Classic is underway! As action starts to wind down in the opening day, here are all of the live updates as OU takes on Fullerton!

The 2026 Mary Nutter Classic is underway! As all of the action wraps up on Feb. 19, the OU Sooners survived a nail-biter to beat Cal State Fullerton in extra innings, 6-5. 

It was a back and forth battle the whole way through as Cal State Fullerton had the hot bats early in this one. With extra bases early, the Titans got off to a 3-1 lead in the top half of the third. 

Ou would rally back in the bottom of the frame with a two-run shot from Kendall Williams. Quickly after that, Emerling would send one straight over the wall to tie it up at four. 

It would stay 4-4 until the seventh inning, when Cal State Fullerton would get a huge RBI double to reclaim the lead. 

Allyssa Parker pulled off a massive home run in the bottom of the seventh to send the ball game to extras. 

It would come down to the final out and Gabbie Garcia lined one down the left-field line for the RBI single!
