Sydney Dale (Watertown, S.D.) showed off her skills in every facet of the game in route to helping her earn the week nine ASA/USA Junior Olympic (JO) Player of the Week honors, presented by Worth Fastpitch and www.FloSoftball.com.

Sydney Dale went an amazing 21-for-25 i the South Dakota ASA/USA State Championship.

Announced on Friday by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA)/USA Softball, Dale’s dominant pitching and stellar outstanding performances pushed her team, Jurgens Printing, to another South Dakota ASA/USA State Championship.

“Sydney was in complete control from the circle this weekend,” stated her Head Coach and father, Jim Dale. “Several comments were made throughout the weekend on her pitching ability and control.  She also got the games going for us this weekend as the leadoff hitter.”

Dale pitched all seven games for her squad in their Championship run at the 2015 South Dakota ASA/USA State Slow Pitch Championship. Dale also showed off her offensive firepower, going 21-for-25 for an .840 batting average. She scored fifteen times during the tournament while collecting 11 RBI with one home run, four doubles and two triples. Jurgens Printing Softball Player’s Club Level will attempt to win their second ASA/USA National Championship this weekend in Watertown, S.D.

Established to recognize JO players 18 years or younger for outstanding play in an ASA/USA sanctioned event, the ASA/USA Softball JO Player of the Week honors 10 athletes, male or female, from May 27 – August 4 following the conclusion of the ASA/USA JO National Championships.

In order to be eligible for the award, athletes must be registered with their local ASA/USA association and must participate in ASA/USA Softball sanctioned events or tournaments during the week nominated. Nominations can be made here: FloSoftball.com.
