Amanda Lorenz’s Blog: ‘It’s Been a Crazy Night!’

Amanda Lorenz has quite the long list of accolades for her high school and prep career. She was a two-time FloSoftball 1st Team All-American at Moorpark (Calif.) High and last year was a key component on the OC Batbusters-Haning/Stith club team that won the PGF 18U National Championship.
The 2015 outfielder has signed with the Univ. of Florida, but has one more week of club ball and is looking to help the Batbusters repeat as champions.
She’ll be blogging for us this week and sharing her thoughts as she and her team work towards closing out the summer with a bang!
Okay, we just played in the most intense game of the year and I AM PUMPEDDDD!!!!
We played the KG Hitters (Calif.) earlier today and mercied them 8-0 in 5 innings. It was a team win and everyone performed when they needed to do so.
Taylor Mcquillin pitched a great game, allowing only one hit.
After the nice win, we headed over to the PGF office down the street to eat lunch and hang out during our long, long game break.
The Firecrackers and AASA went into extras, so our game got delayed by an hour or so.
We were super excited for our game against AASA. They are a talented team and they know how to compete. They came out swinging the first inning and managed to get a run across on one of our mistakes.
We soon retaliated and Dejah Mulipola came through with a single to left with the bases loaded!!!! We were pumped!!!!
Before we knew it we were in the 8th inning.
It was now in ITB and Taylon Snow was our runner on second. (Taylon’s older sister) Tannon (Snow) was up and she had been hitting very well that game, but she sacrificed Taylon over on the first pitch with a perfectly executed bunt.
Morganne Flores hit a hard ground ball to short and Taylon was able to score!! So to the bottom of the 8th we go!!!
Taylor had been pitching an amazing game and I had all the confidence in the world heading out on the field that half inning.
She got the first batter to foul out on bunts and managed to get the second batter out on a foul pop up.
A wild pitch caused the runner from second to move to third, but Taylor came through again and struck out the third batter to win the game!!!
This game was such a nice team win. Obviously, Taylor did an AMAZING job but our whole team was so involved in every inning and that is why our team came out on top tonight.
Side note: Major props to AASA. Their pitcher (Nerissa Long) played an amazing game and so did their entire team.
I cannot wait to get out there in the morning with my teammates and go get two more wins!!!
Goooooood night!! It’s been a crazy night!
