Amanda Lorenz blog: my last run at nationals

Amanda Lorenz has quite the long list of accolades for her high school and prep career. She was a two-time FloSoftball 1st Team All-American at Moorpark (Calif.) High and last year was a key component on the OC Batbusters-Haning/Stith club team that won the PGF 18U National Championship.

The 2015 outfielder has signed with the Univ. of Florida, but has one more week of club ball and is looking to help the Batbusters repeat as champions.

She’ll be blogging for us this week and sharing her thoughts as she and her team work towards closing out the summer with a bang!

Hi everyone!

Saturday was the first day of PGF Nationals and our team was super eager to get out and compete.

Our game wasn’t until 7:15 pm so we met for a late lunch at around 2 pm. All the seniors couldn’t believe this was our last week together and playing travel ball.

Amanda and many of her teammates have been together since the eighth grade, so this will be an emotional week for her on and off the field.

Most of us have been together since 8th grade so it is going to be a very emotional week!

After eating lunch, we headed over to the Sports Training Complex to get in some BP before our game. We had some time to kill so we played some basketball and it got pretty intense!

After we finished hitting, we headed over to the fields and played some pepper until game time.

We had kind of a slow start yesterday, but we will adjust and figure everything out for bracket play.

I’m very excited to see what this week holds for our team. Today, Sunday, was the last day of pool play and I am really excited for our bracket game tomorrow.

Our team did pretty well and we are feeling very confident going into the rest of the week.

We again started off the day at Sports Training Complex to hit before our first game. After that we headed over to the fields. We played the Atlanta Vipers and the Grapettes and we won both.

I’m having a lot of fun with my team and I can’t wait to start bracket play tomorrow!
