Jordan Doggett
Jordan was a Georgia All-State pick as a junior last fall.

Jordan Doggett is a 2016 middle infielder and outfielder from McDonough, Ga. who plays for the Georgia Elite-Hoover team and attends Ola High School.

As a junior last fall in the Peach State, Jordan hit .564 with a .627 on-base percentage and used her 2.6 home-to-first speed to steal 40 bases.

Jordan earned All-State and Region 4-AAAAA 1st Team honors as a shortstop and was named the Henry Co. Female Athlete of the Year.

This summer she’s batting .414 so far with a .458 on-base percentage and recently she committed to her home state Georgia Bulldogs.

Here’s more on the speedy lefty who also is a volleyball standout…

FloSoftball.com: Walk us through how the recruiting process went with Georgia, when they saw you first up until you committed…
Jordan Doggett: They’ve been watching me for a while. One of my teammates (Amanda Ablan) also committed to UGA so they have been to quite a few of our games. I was kind of a late bloomer with my offensive game but when it finally came around everything fell into place and it happened very quickly.

FS: Anymore, with 2018’s and ’19’s committing, were you worried heading into your final year being a 2016 and still available?
JD: Well, I actually wasn’t worried at all. I knew my hard work would pay off and my dream would come true. My parents would always tell me to stay positive and that good things come to those who wait and good things came.

FS: Were you looking at and considering other schools?  If so, whom…
JD: I was interested in a few schools but I didn’t really have it narrowed down to a specific one.

FS: If you could do the recruiting process all over again, what would you do differently?
JD: I would’ve targeted a specific school and I would’ve attended more camps.

FS: Where will we see you next this summer?
JD: I’ll be at PGF Nationals August 1-8.

FS: What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
JD: The best advice I’ve ever been given is “Never let anybody outwork you,” “Good things come to those who wait,” and “Be patient.”

FS: Funniest/most embarrassing thing to happen to you or that you’ve seen on the field…
JD: When I was 13, I was playing in my first showcase tournament ever. One of my teammates was up to bat and she got a hit but after she ran through first, she turned back into fair territory. The coaches on the other team started yelling “TAG HER! TAG HER!” My teammate took off running and ran all the way down the right field foul line. She ran all the way to the fence and into right field. The funniest part is, the girl chased her the whole way until she finally tagged her out.

FS: Thing you wouldn’t be caught dead doing or wearing!
JD: I would never be caught dead wearing pink (unless it’s a softball uniform for breast cancer awareness).

FS: What’s your “guilty pleasure,” meaning something you love but are kind of embarrassed to admit!
JD: I love watching SpongeBob!

FS: In one word, describe yourself on the field… and then off the field.
JD: On the field: “focused.” Off the field: “silly.”

FS: Bonus question: Something unusual or different about you few know…
JD: I hate the word “mole!” It makes me cringe.
