Full Count Softball becoming FloSoftball! (5/31)

On Monday, you’ll see a BIG change here as the FullCountSoftball.com site you’ve come to know and (hopefully!) love will change its look and name to FloSoftball.

Don’t worry—you’ll still get all of the same content PLUS a lot more including everything from video and streamed games from major events and tournaments around the country.

The new FloSoftball.com will be part of the FloSports network of sports verticals that currently includes track, wrestling, gymnastics, elite fitness and soon will expand into many other sports.

With the transition from Full Count Softball to FloSoftball, we'll be able to provide more content including event coverage, video streaming and news pieces.
With the transition from Full Count Softball to FloSoftball, we’ll be able to provide more content including event coverage, video streaming and news pieces.

So why the change? The main reason: greater resources.

I started Full Count Softball last July as a full-time venture after running StudentSportsSoftball.com on and off since 2006.

My goal was to have so much content in girls fastpitch softball that it would become the daily “must see” site, especially involving club and high school. I’m proud to say that since June 2013—almost two full years—we have not missed a day of content (vacation? what’s a vacation?).

Last year alone, we posted over 1,200 articles! That averages out to more than three stories a day, every day, including holidays.

Because of you—the softball community and your interaction with us—Full Count Softball has exceeding expectations as we’ve covered everything from 10U up to the NPF.

The editorial content has included recruiting features and lists like the “Hot 100” players in each class from 2014 through 2018 to FAB 50 club and high school rankings to lists such as “The 10 Most Influential People in Softball Today” and, my personal favorite part of our coverage, producing compelling human interest stories which touch, inspire and change peoples’ lives.

But, ultimately, I realized that being a “one man gang” meant I could only do so much. As you may know, I used to work at ESPN and several of my cohorts from there joined FloSports and they explained how my content and passion for softball could be amplified by Flo’s vision and ability to add more to a sport, including video pieces, documentaries, streaming of live events, weekly studio shows, etc.

The reason for the switch to FloSoftball? Greater resources to greatly increase softball content!

As I learned what FloSports does and how it impacts a sports community—it owns the wrestling market for example, from producing events to streaming multiple matches live simultaneously—I became excited about what we could do in softball.

I decided to partner up with FloSports and become the “GM of Softball.” We will soon be having a Senior Editor and an Associate Producer to help me with content and you’ll see us at events all summer!

So what does this mean for you? Subscribers will have their subscriptions roll over so you won’t miss any content as we transition to the new look and features of the site starting Monday

On the new site, I’ll still be producing the same content, only more of it! You’ll still be able to purchase monthly and annual subscriptions which will include access to video streamed games at events—for example, a monthly subscription will get you the daily written content AND all the games streamed from events during that month—all for the one-time price.

Let me finish with this—if you’re like me, you like familiarity and want things you like to stay the same. I hate when websites change their look and format; why mess with a good thing? You’ve become accustomed to FullCountSoftball.com and the process of seeing new content and where articles are stored.

I get that—I’m “that guy” too—and you may not like the new site at first. All I ask, is to give it some time. The tech guys at FloSports are awesome—the best in the business—and once you get comfortable with the new format you’ll love what we will be doing!
