The latest on Dana Housley (5/27)

Last Saturday, freshman Dana Housley from Etiwanda, California, was playing for her Cal Thunder 14U club team when she collapsed during an at-bat from a brain aneurysm.

Since that time, she’s been hospitalized and, initially, it was thought that if she hadn’t shown any brain activity by Monday morning she would be removed off of life support.
The good news is that as of today she is still on life support although one source close to the situation tells us “there hasn’t been any improvement and we are supposed to be updated by Dana’s father tonight.”
Valerie Van Kirk LeVier, who runs the Cal Thunder organization, told us earlier about Dana, “She is so beautiful and such a fighter. Her family needs your prayers and donations. Please find it in your heart to assist in ANY way possible. Cal Thunder thanks everyone who has prayed, tweeted or shared in this experience by representing Dana’s love and passion for her sport.”
The response inside and outside the softball community has been unbelievable.
“Channel 7 (the Los Angeles ABC station) says they’ve never seen anything like it,” our source said.
