Louisville Slugger Hit Club!

Full Count Softball is excited to announce a partnership with Louisville Slugger and Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) to produce the Louisville Slugger Hit Club, a 3 ½ day event that will run from August 1-4 in Huntington Beach, Calif.

Louisville Slugger Hit Club social postTen of the top hitters from the 2015 class will be selected for the national event and will get on-field instruction from legendary coaches and players such as Sue Enquist and Jessica Mendoza.

The Hit Club participants will also be honored at the PGF Nationals Opening Ceremonies on August 3.

The Louisville Slugger Hit Club will be a fun, get-away for the players, too, as the group will get to do fun activities tentatively scheduled such as going to Disneyland, hanging out at the beach and checking out an Angels baseball game!

Those talented 10 who make the National event will have all travel and event expenses covered.

But to get there, the batters have to be evaluated at one of three PGF-produced Summer Camp/Clinics… here are the dates and locations:

  • June 23, 2015 – PGF Team New Jersey Summer Camp/Clinic (Edison, NJ)
  • June 30, 2015 – PGF Louisville Slugger Camp/Clinic (Boulder, CO)
  • July 9, 2015 – PGF Surf City Summer Camp/Clinic (Fountain Valley, CA)

The cost for the regional camp, which will be a one-hour hitting session, is $25 to meet NCAA compliance standards.

Space is limited so not all who apply will be accepted; those that are confirmed spots will be notified with details such as time and location.

Former Michigan All-American and National Champion pitcher Jennie Ritter is the Fastpitch Business Manager for Louisville Slugger and created the Hit Club concept.

Sue Enquist will be one of the legends of the game who will work with the 10 athletes at the Louisville Slugger Hit Club.
Sue Enquist will be one of the legends of the game who will work with the 10 athletes at the Louisville Slugger Hit Club.

She felt that this would be a great way to honor, education and bring together some of the game’s top young hitters to create a bonding experience on and off the field that will likely develop life-long friendships.

“Athletes that are a part of the Louisville Slugger Hit Club are those that have worked hard to perfect their game,” she explains.

“Now they have an opportunity to get additional work and one-on-one help from the best to ever play and coach the game of softball.  They will also get to know other athletes and share stories with those who have similar experiences.  These athletes will be among best hitters in their class and it will be a great honor to be recognized as such.”

Dan Hay, the President of PGF, agrees.

“We see these great hitters at events like the PGF Nationals and know what they can do,” he says. “This will be a fun opportunity for these 10 excellent hitter to rub shoulders with their talented peers, pick up instruction to improve their skills and have fun as a group prior to their leaving for college and taking their game literally to the next level.”
