Help us build our H.S. All-American lists! (5/12)

Some states, like Florida, have wrapped up their high school playoffs, others are in the middle of the championship runs and some are getting ready to play in the post-season, but no matter where you are in the season, it’s time to think major honors.

Paige Parker was one of the 1st Team Full Count Softball All-Americans last year.

We’ll be selecting All-American teams for not just Full Count Softball, but also for USA Today and for players, parents and coaches, it’s time to pull together your info and send it in to be considered!

The Full Count Softball list will be approximately 40 players deep for each team (1^st and 2^nd Teams) while the USA Today team will consist of 20 players.

To give you an idea of the players will be honored, here’s how two of the 1^st Team Full Count Softblal pitchers from last year were recognized:

Sr. Alexis Osorio M.L. King (Riverside, Calif.)
A finalist for California’s “Ms. Softball,” the Alabama signee was a strikeout machine, recording 358 K’s in 205.1 innings while compiling a 21-4 record and 0.44 ERA (her team only scored one run in her four losses including the 12-inning Div. II title game 1-0 loss to Pacifica in which she had 16 strikeouts).

Sr. Paige Parker Truman (Independence, Mo.)
The lefty pitcher went 23-2 with a 0.25 ERA striking out 342 batters in 166 innings. She was a four-time 1^st Team All-State honoree with state marks for most wins (93) and strikeouts (1,348). She signed with Oklahoma was the Gatorade State Player of the Year.

(And, yes, both of these players have had standout-years as freshmen in college!)

Taran Alvelo was one of the juniors to make the 2014 1st Team FCS All-American list.
