The Mary Star of the Sea prom was held on April 24th at the Fort MacArthur Military Base ballroom in San Pedro and the theme of the prom was “Masked in Mystery.”

With its scenic views of the Pacific Ocean and elegant ballroom, Fort MacArthur provided a beautiful setting for the students.

Marina asked Tate, her longtime friend and neighbor, to be her date. He is headed to Holy Cross University near Boston to play football and will join Marina in heading to the East Coast where she will play at George Mason University in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Marina is a lifelong member of the Firecracker club organization and is currently pitching for Firecrackers 18 Gold- Kevin. She has played 18 Gold since she was 14 years old and will lead her team into the PGF qualifiers in June.

Marina is currently 16-3 this season for Mary Star with 14 shutouts and has allowed only two earned runs in 121 innings for an amazing 0.11 ERA

She also has 267 strikeouts with only 13 walks.

The So Cal senior has shattered school and local records with a career total of 1,062 strikeouts and climbing. At the plate, Marina is batting .450 with five home runs.

All three of Mary Star’s losses were by 1-0 scores and the team is currently in 1st place in the Camino Real League and ranked 5th in Division 5.
