Alexis “Lex” Hull is a 2015 lefty power hitter from Louisville, Ky. and a signee with the South Carolina softball program.

Prior to this season, she had a .403 batting average and is having a great senior campaign, currently batting .491 with six home runs, 20 walks an on-base percentage of .636. Lex is already at the top of most of the Ballard High career offensive records.

Prior to this summer she has played for the Louisville Lady Sluggers – her father, Joe Hull, is a coach for the Sluggers 03 team – and was looking to play for the Beverly Bandits this year, but plans have changed in a big way.

Explains her mother, Angie: “After much debate, Lex has recently decided not to lock into a summer travel ball roster. Instead her focus will be on attending summer school at the University of South Carolina to get a jump start on the transition (to college).”

“While going to a four week summer session in July she will work out with the strength and conditioning coach to prepare for her first fall ball season as she hopes to make an immediate impact, especially since the Gamecocks two senior catchers graduate.”

Until then, the 2015 Hot 100 member (No. 64) is focusing on school and the fun that comes with closing out her senior year.

That included her prom last Saturday (April 25, 2015), which was held at The Olmsted, one of Louisville’s premier event venues. Lex and a group of friends went to the prom in style—in a stretch limo.

“It was just really nice to get out of my cleats and get all dressed up to have a night of fun with great friends!” she told Full Count Softball.

But who knew going to the prom could be physically dangerous?  Her mother had a great line when she said, “Lex took a slight tumble in those heels some down some wet deck stairs due to rain, but no worry, coaches, she’s bruised… but definitely okay!”
