Cate Francoeur (West Bridgewater HS / West Bridgewater, Mass.), Maddie Damon (Kasson-Mantorville HS / Kasson, Minn.), Brianna Jones (Coffey County Central HS / Manchester, Tenn.) Kaitlyn Tenholder (Adrian HS / Adrian, Mo.) and Tristin Achenbach (Conrad HS / Conrad, Mont.) were selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week, respectively, announced on Monday for games played April 20-26

Cate Francoeur

Francouer powered the Wildcats to a 3-1 week by batting .833 (10-for-12) with four home runs, nine RBI, nine runs and a whopping 2.000 slugging percentage. Along with her long balls, the senior captain doubled twice, walked three times and recorded a .867 on base percentage. In a doubleheader sweep of Bristol-Plymouth Tech, Francouer was 4-for-4 with three home runs, four RBI and five runs scored. She left the yard twice in the opener and scored three times in the nightcap.  She added a home run and three RBI versus Cardinal Spellman and closed out her week with a perfect 4-for-4 outing with two doubles, two RBI and three runs against Diman Tech.

Maddie Damon

Damon was unhittable in two appearances last week tossing two no-hitters, including a six-inning perfect game against Lake City. The senior hurler struck out 16 in both contests with the only two base runners reaching via a free pass in a 7-0 victory over Hayfield. She also provided some offense for the Komets, going 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored against Hayfield.

Brianna Jones

Jones was tremendous in the circle for the Red Raiders, posting a 3-0 mark without allowing a run and surrendering just three hits in 18.2 inning of work last week. She twirled a pair of one-hit shutouts and struck out 37 batters to just four walks. In a 3-0 victory over Tullahoma, Jones was masterful as she struck out 17, walked two and allowed just one hit. She followed that with a five-inning, 10-strikeout blanking of Warren County. The senior right kicked off her week tossing 6.2 innings of one-hit scoreless ball with 10 strikeouts during a 2-0 triumph over Lawrence County. For the week, she held her opponents to a .050 batting average.

Kaitlyn Tenholder

Tenholder, a senior, batted .615, scored 16 runs, drove in twelve, walked seven times and posted a .750 on base percentage leading the Blackhawks to a 7-0 week. She registered six multi-run scoring contests, including crossing the dish three times in four different games. Tenholder was 2-for-3 with a double, home run, three RBI and three runs scored versus Kingsville, and also homered and scored three times in the second game of a doubleheader versus Drexel. The captain added three runs against Rich Hill and Butler, respectively.

Tristin Achenbach

Achenbach tossed a no-hitter and went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 14 innings. In her no-hitter against Cut Bank, she surrendered three unearned runs, walked one and struck out 19, matching her season high, which was obtained in her first outing of the season. The sophomore came out on top in a pitcher’s duel against Russell, holding the opposition to just three hits and striking out 13 in a 1-0 victory for Conrad.
