Mary Wilson helped lead the Eaglettes to a 17-12 mark in their first year in the Georgia High School Association and beat some schools in much larger divisions before ultimately advancing to the Elite 8 and finishing 5th in the state.

As a junior (Georgia high school ball is played in the fall), Mary Wilson earned Region 7A 1st team and 2nd Team All-State honors after recording 234 strikeouts while hitting .482 with 33 RBI.

Softball, however, was the last thing on her mind on April 10th as the Stratford Academy prom was held at the historic Cox Capital Theater in downtown Macon, Ga.

The theme was “Masquerade Ball” and according to the athlete’s mother, Elizabeth: “Mary Wilson literally decorated for the dance all morning and flew home to shower and ‘doll up’ before heading out the door again with no time to spare!”

Her date was Senior Class President Spencer Williams, who will be a Sports Management Major at Mercer Univ. next year and work as a Manger for the basketball team.
