A huge milestone should be set later today in Arizona as Full Count Softball All-American pitcher Tamara “T” Statman from Scottsdale Horizon should hit and surpass the 1,000 strikeout mark for her career.

Statman would be the first pitcher in Arizona state history to surpass the four-figure mark from 43 feet as she currently sits at 997 K’s with a game set later today at Horizon High versus Boulder Creek of Anthem, Ariz.“This milestone is just truly amazing to reach,” the senior pitcher told Full Count on Sunday. “I am so excited that I was offered the opportunity to go out and reach this milestone.”T’s Huskies team is ranked No. 40 nationally in the latest FAB 50 High School Ratings and is currently 19-6 after starting the season 13-0, including winning the championship of the Dobson tournament. [premium-content]In that tournament, T had a three-hit shutout over Canyon Del Oro out of Tucson, winners of the Desert Mountain Invitational, and threw a perfect game against Basha that same night.The Huskies hit a rough stretch going 6-6 but that seems to be ironed out as T has won four of her last five games including a five-inning visit over North Canyon of Phoenix in which she had 12 K’s and also went 4-for-5 from the plate with a home run.

She has won all 19 games for the Huskies and has a 1.55 ERA with 205 strikeouts for the year on 140 1/3 innings pitched.
