“The weather batted two-for-three,” laughed Roger Jones, the Director of the Klassic, “but fortunately we had a great ground crew. The 220 foot fences were a challenge with all of that wind and some sweet pitching and during the Friday afternoon wind and rain storm several teams were under one tent and all had to scatter when it came full force, but we got ready to play again and the top dog was a team effort by Blue Bracket winner Hagerty.”

Hagerty from Oviedo, Fla. was ranked No. 3 in the nation in the latest Full Count Softball FAB 50 National Rankings and showed why the team is so highly touted.

The Huskies defeated Cantonment Tate (ranked No. 30 in the FAB 50) 5-2 in the Blue Bracket championship game as Sarah Harrison hit a fourth inning triple to score Kori Brooke to break a 2-2 tie.

Senior pitcher Samantha Worrell, who has signed with South Florida, scattered seven hits and struck out eight while allowing only one earned run.

In the Gold Bracket, Tampa Plant blanked Doral Academy 12-0 behind pitcher Dana Rowley’s one-hitter.
