Strengths: Says her father, Ryan, who was her coach last year: “Something she brings up daily is being better that day than the last.  ‘Be better’ through academics, lifting, hitting sessions and daily life is something Peyton strives to do every day. Peyton’s main strength is her work ethic and the strive to always be better each coming day.”

Family Ties: “She is a great sister to Hallie (18) and more like a mom to her 10-year-old younger sister Dylan (5),” explains her father. “Her strong family values help tie her into always being a great teammate.”

“Peyton also achieved her goals knowing her mom Nicki was not doing very well fighting cancer that was found January 2013.  Her mom lost her battle on December 9, 2014.  Her mom was so very proud of her being a college softball player herself.  Mom was in attendance at the unofficial visit to Nebraska and got to listen to Peyton later that night when she was on the phone with the coaches letting them know she wants to be a Husker.  Nicki was all smiles that day.”

College: Nebraska

Recruiting Process: “Peyton’s recruiting process was short lived.  In the fall of 2013, Nebraska Gold Director Mike Heard, now her summer coach, said, ‘It’s time to start taking her around for college coaches to see her.’  Her first strong look happened on January 4, 2014 at a combine held at the University of Nebraska.  Nebraska Assistant Coach Diane Miller kept a close eye on her that day.”

“We traveled to several schools: Creighton, Nebraska, Wayne State, Iowa, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Kansas, Missouri, and Tulsa.  On June 25th her coach at the time and dad received a text from the Nebraska coaching staff with an offer to play for the Huskers.”

“After a short tear-up session from all the family members, Peyton talked that evening with Head Coach Rhonda Revelle.  An unoffical visit was set up for August 5, 2014 where she gave her verbal to be a Husker in the 2018 class.  This all happened before she stepped on the high school field as a freshman!”
