It’s not exactly Angels in the Outfield for the Univ. of Texas, but in a few years they will have a pair of Angels in the dugout.

Last year, Alyssa Angel helped lead La Grange (Texas) High to a Class 3A State Championship and is now a freshman infielder ready to take the field for the Longhorns.

In a few years, her younger sister, Briana, who had a fantastic sophomore year last spring batting .458 with 55 runs scored and seven homers for the state champs, will also put on the Burnt Orange uniform and play at Texas.

Last month at the Texas Bombers banquet, I had a chance to catch up with the 2016 second baseman/outfielder to ask her about the recruiting process, what it was like to follow behind her talented sisters and if they’re alike or different in playing styles.
