FAB 50 Club Rankings starting on FCS (1/12)

Coaches, players and parents: you’ll want to pay attention to this announcement!

Starting a week from tomorrow – Tuesday, Jan. 20 – we’re going to start doing our FAB 50 Club Rankings similar to what we do for our FAB 50 High School Rankings, meaning we will rank the top teams in each age division (18U, 16U, 14U and 12U).

The Corona Angels-Tyson 14U team celebrates winning the 2014 PGF Nationals.
The Corona Angels-Tyson 14U team celebrates winning the 2014 PGF Nationals.

At this point, the plan is to unveil the new FAB 50 one age division at a time so 18U will be on Jan. 20, the FAB 50 16U on Jan. 27, etc.  How often they’re updated is still up in the air, but the initial thought is to do once a month until the summer hits and then re-evaluate.

This is a project I’ve been wanting to start ever since we launched Full Count Softball to give us complete team (club and high school) and individual (Hot 100) rankings… will be a lot of fun!

I’ve had several college and club coaches I’ve talked to ask, “How this will be different than others including US Club Rankings?” I respect their approach and thoroughness doing it on a point basis based on event performance; the FAB 50 Club Rankings will be compiled differently, as we’ll use the feedback and input of top coaches in each division to come to a consensus.

In other words–similar to the Hot 100’s–it will be based on an aggregation of input from those who compete in that age division. I think it will be healthy and fun to have a debate on differing rankings!

One thing we’ll endeavor to do is explain why a team is moving up and down—it will be a fluid process as teams win or lose throughout the year… and here’s where YOU come in: your input will be considered!

If you’d like to make a case on why your team should be included, please submit event results, accomplishments, player updates (performances), etc. to me at: Brentt@FullCountSoftball.com.

Having the detailed info is great as I can present to coaches to help them in their decisions.

So you’re now on the clock!
