Terra McGowan is one of the top catchers in the 2018 class and has committed to Arizona State, but you likely won’t see her playing that position this spring when she takes the field for her Mission Viejo (Calif.) softball team.

That’s because the Diablos, rated by Full Count Softball as the No. 1 team in the nation in 2014 and led by All-Americans like pitcher Taylor McQuillin and outfielder Alyssa Palomino, both of whom signed with Arizona, already have an established upperclass catcher in Oregon State-bound Kayleen Shafer.
