Brooke’s blog: my Thanksgiving thoughts (11/23)

Brooke Vestal, the 2018 pitcher with the Texas Bombers and a very early commit to Oklahoma, has had quite the eventful year including some fantastic play in big tournaments and committing to one of the top programs in the nation.

One of the big things Brooke is thankful for: committing to Oklahoma this year!

In her latest blog, Brooke talks about what she’s grateful for as we hit the Thanksgiving break.

The Texas freshman became a national prospect after the 2013 PGF Nationals, where, at only age 13, had SEC, Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 coaches watching her pitch.

After a strong 2014 run, including helping the Bombers 16U team to at 3rd place finish at the Colorado Sparkler Super 64 where she went 6-0 with 60 K’s in 34 2/3 innings, Brooke is now considered one of the top pitchers in the club world and one of the best overall prospects in the 2018 class.

Thanksgiving is here, and I have many things to be thankful for that have happened in the last year.

My team, the Texas Bombers, had a great tournament season and I made a verbal commitment to play softball at OU.

It has been quite a ride!

Thanksgiving to me means I get to head to the South Texas brush and spend some downtime with my family. I will be doing some serious deer hunting and hanging out with my family.

This is a good chance for me to escape the intensity of our sport and enjoy the silence.

I always enjoy the break, but I look forward to getting back in the game. This fall I got a taste of playing for the Texas Bomber Gold team and I can’t wait to join our team on the road. We have great players and great expectations.

Let’s enjoy the holidays and get ready to rumble on the dirt.

Viva Bombers!
