*** UPDATED*** In September we profiled this week’s PGF Early Thanksgiving Exposure Workout; the camp is now closed to new participants. Below you’ll read about this year’s event — including the roster of those who will attend–and see photos and videos from last year’s camp.
One of the best showcases I’ve seen took place last November and was called the PGF Early Thanksgiving Exposure Workout which saw about as many college coaches (134) show up to watch players (164 of them) go through the drills.
This November, the event is named a bit differently—it’s called the PGF-Surf City Early Thanksgiving Camp/Clinic—but the caliber of coaches and instruction will be just as high.
The camp will take place Friday, November 21 at Bill Barber Sports Complex in Irvine, Calif. with player check-in starting at 3:30 pm and college coaches checking in at 4 pm.
The exposure camp will run from 4:30 to 8:30 pm and will feature 180 girls in the 2015 to 2019 classes. Space is limited by position and players will go through position-specific defensive drills as well as a combination of machine and live pitching.
In addition, players will go through PGF Measurement Testing and Zepp Testing (bat speed testing).
The roster of instructors who will be providing on-field training and evaluation is a Who’s Who of top club coaches is starts with Mike Stith, the Camp Operator and Co-Head Coach of the PGF 18U Premier National Champion OC Batbusters – Haning/Stith team.
The other coaches assisting at the camp include:
