Last month—October 16 & 17, 2014, to be exact—the West Coast National Elite Camp took place at Mt. SAC in Walnut, Calif. and featured 79 top underclass prospects around the country and even from Canada.

Here’s a link to the West Coast camp and who attended, pictures of the participants and a recap of many who stood out.

Today, the East Coast National Elite Camp begins with 64 top players scheduled to work out at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Derek and Joann Allister, the leaders of OnDeck Softball, are producing the event and their daughter, Heather, has kindly agreed to send info from the camp over the next few days including photos so we hope to have good info covering how the more than five dozen players do.

Two players who know are going to be there working out are:

— Taylor “Taco” Greene, a 2018 catcher/shortstop out of Georgia.

She wrote me this week saying, “I have a 1.6 pop time and go to Cambridge High School in Alpharetta, Ga. We were four outs away from winning the state championship in 5A.”

“I had a home run in that game though, and no runners attempted to steal in the region and state tournament. I was named All-Region for Region 7 and also Best Defensive Player in the region as a freshmen.”

— Peyton St. George, a 2017 pitcher from Virginia.

We did a Rising Star profile on Peyton in October and she already has colleges from major conferences like the ACC, Big 12 and SEC after her. She had a 0.81 ERA with 96K’s as a freshman and was a 1^st Team All-Conference honoree and led her high school team to the region quarterfinals.
