2015 Updated Hot 100: the “Next 25 In” (10/19)

In January, 2014 the 2015 Hot 100 list was revealed and today we start the process of updating the rankings based on play and evaluations from the spring and summer.

Over the next two weeks, we’ll unveil 10 players per day similar to how we’ve done the 2014, 2015 and 2016 classes previously with bio info and a photo and finish on Halloween with the top 10.

Sarai Niu's outstanding play at the PGF 16U Nationals, especially her power at the plate, really elevated her stock and put her on the national map.
Sarai Niu’s outstanding play at the PGF 16U Nationals, especially her power at the plate, really elevated her stock and put her on the national map.

So why do a revised list in the first place, especially after we did the first launch only 10 months ago?

The answer is simple: players have emerged who should be on the list while others on the list have taken their game to another level and should be rewarded for their hard work and improvement.

The reason for doing it right now is timing. The completion of the new list will be shortly before the Early Signing Period begins and will allow us to update the Top 25 College Classes and see who did well in getting a collection of elite players.

As has been the process before, the list was created with the input of club and college coaches who helped shape not only who made the rankings but where they are slotted.

This much you can count on: there are new players on the list, which means some are no longer on the list… that is the nature of the beast. This naturally changes almost every player’s ranking from before, many not much but some significantly.

Also, sad as it is to say, serious injuries were a factor in seeing a few players dropping significantly down the list or even off the top 100 list. We sincerely hope they can come back better than ever and if this list is a motivator for them to get back to dominating on the field and proving us wrong, good for them!

There will be significant changes in some spots–a new Top 10, for example, and some players not previously on the list will impact the Top 50 rankings.

So, once again, here we go and to kick off the updated 2015 Hot 100 top player countdown, check out the:
