PGF (Premier Girls Fastpitch) has become a brand name in club softball like ESPN is to sports media and Nike is to sports apparel.

The leaders of PGF, including Dan Hay and Gary Haning, also have run for years the Surf City Showcase Tournaments that are always big draws in the fall months of October and November. Paired with the October Showcase Tournament is a well-run camp/clinic heading into the weekend (but you don’t have to be playing in the tournament to work out in the showcase).

We recently told you about the PGF-Surf City Early Thanksgiving Camp/Clinic that will take place Nov. 21 in Irvine, Calif. but there’s another Showcase Camp/Clinic that’s just a week and a half away.

If you’d like to get high-level exposure to top club coaches and college coaches, you should certainly consider the PGF-Surf City October Showcase Camp/Clinic.

This event will take place a week from this Friday—October 17, 2014 – and will run from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

The camp will take place at Bill Barber Sports Complex in Irvine, Calif. with player check-in starting at 3:30 pm and college coaches checking in at 4 pm.

The exposure camp will run from 4:30 to 8:30 pm and will feature 180 girls in the 2015 to 2019 classes. Space is limited by position and players will go through position-specific defensive drills as well as a combination of machine and live pitching.

In addition, players will go through PGF Measurement Testing and Zepp Testing (bat speed testing).

The roster of instructors who will be providing on-field training and evaluation many of the elite club coaches in softball today and starts with Mike Stith, the Camp Operator and Co-Head Coach of the PGF 18U Premier National Champion OC Batbusters – Haning/Stith team.
