Lady Lightning 2016’s to Watch

John Corn’s Lady Lightning team was once again very competitive at PGF Nationals finishing tied for ninth in part because of several outstanding juniors who are Hot 100 candidates in the 2016 class.
Coach Corn’s players are no stranger to the Hot 100 lists—the 2015 class had a trio of Lightning players listed including P Regan Green, a commit to Mississippi State, who was ranked No. 11 overall.
Here’s a quick look at the top 2016’s in the program, listed alphabetically with comments from the coach…
***
— P Morgan Bruce (2016, Ole Miss)
“Morgan is a dominate power pitcher. She is able to hold teams down with her velocity that can reach 64 and then finish them off with a devastating drop ball. She got strong looks from the SEC and ACC and will be a great addition to Ole Miss’s pitching staff.”

— 1B Kaitlyn Martin (2016, Tennessee)
“Kaitlyn is pure power, she’s a powerful lefty hitter who can drive the ball deep to all fields. She prides herself on working hard to develop her strong swing. Kaitlyn is the toughest of competitors and is ready for any challenge a pitcher may bring at her. She is definitely a player who can change the game with one swing.
— MIF/OF Olivia Narron (2016, East Carolina)
“Olivia is a pure speed player capable of stealing at anytime. She leads a team with her bat and her defense. Olivia leads off with an arsenal of weapons from slap, bunt, and power. Defensively she has plenty of range in both the infield and outfield.”
— P Megan Richards (2016, Campbell)
“Megan possess power and spin in her game. At 64 mph she can get hitters out but her mix of speeds is what separates her. “
— P Devin Wallace (2016, Coastal Carolina)
“Devin is a dominate power pitcher with speed reaching 64 mph. She has strong east/west movement and an impressive rise which is what makes her dominate. Devin is also strong at the plate as a lefty and can hit for constant power. She is currently looking for an opportunity in the ACC and Big Ten.”
— MIF Taylor Wooten (2016, Western Carolina)
“Taylor is a versatile defender in both the infield and outfield, but her power at the plate makes her lethal in the lineup.”
