Always love when players reach out and let us know how they’re doing. I got a nice e-mail from Brynne Fitzpatrick, the 2015 pitcher for the San Jose Sharks who is headed to Cal.
I had a chance to watch Brynne, who is ranked as the No. 50 in our 2015 Hot 100, and saw why she’s so well liked. She had good movement on her pitches and her herky-jerky motion makes it hard to pick up the ball upon release.
Here’s what she says about how her year went…

I wanted to give you an update on my high school, summer, and upcoming fall seasons.
In the high school season, for my high school (Valley Christian of San Jose, Calif.), I was very honored to receive awards such as Maxpreps Underclass 1st Team All-American, 1st Team WCAL pitcher of the year, Prep2Prep softball Player of the Year (NorCal), Valley Christian High School Outstanding Junior Athlete of the Year and CalHi Sports Medium Schools All State.
A couple of personal achievement awards would be receiving my team’s Warrior Award, for leading my team throughout our season as well as coming back from last season which I was not able to play because of a back injury, along with being a scholar athlete throughout our season and receiving an award for it.
I was also able to be included in a couple of articles in the newspaper such as being featured as one of the Mercury News Athletes of the Week and having a personal newspaper spread in the Varsity Extra section which was pretty cool!

I finished the season with a.348 batting average and an 0.60 era. I also struck out 381 in 186 innings of work.
During the summer season, my travel team San Jose Lady Sharks, qualified for 16U premier in one of the tough LA qualifiers. During this qualifier, I pitched 5 our of 7 games (two of those were no-hitters against Power Surge and one of the Firecracker teams) and went 4-1, the only loss coming from Sorcerer 16U where I struck out 13 of 18 batters in our 2-1 loss.
This fall season, I am blessed and honored to say I will be playing for Sorcerer 18U Gold and cannot wait to play with three of my future college teammates—OF Danika Bailey (2015), OF Sabrina Nunez (2017), SS Lindsay Rood (2015)!
I am still committed to the University of California Berkeley and realize everyday how blessed I am to be able to play for my dream school in a year!
Thank you and blessings,
Brynne Fitzpatrick
