Hannah Boos experienced the highs and lows of championship play all within a few weeks this summer. The 2017 pitcher was having a great PGF 14U Nationals and won five games for the So Cal A’s-Quarles team before finger problems derailed her in the title game, a loss to Corona Angels-Tyson.

However, Hannah bounced back with a great run in the ASA/USA Class A Nationals 14U tourney in which she led the A’s to the title.

We spoke with the Pacifica High (Garden Grove, Calif.) sophomore about her summer and where she goes from here…

FullCountSoftball.com: You finished off your summer with a big high, winning ASA Nationals… tell us about the event and how you did?
Hannah Boos: After coming off the PGF loss I was ready for ASA even more. It’s always fun to stay in a hotel with my friends and teammates. I knew there were more teams coming from different states and it was going to be a lot of games. I didn’t pitch but just a few innings in pool play to stay loose and heal my fingers. It came down to long days and rain delays but my pitching was strong and so was my team behind me. The last day we had to come back from a late 1-0 loss to put us in the losers bracket, but I knew we could do it–it was going to take five games to win it. It was one game at a time and I got to pitch the semi-final and the championship game for the win. It was an awesome feeling!
